MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL Aaron Tarr Head Coach Boys Varsity Baseball VARSITY BASEBALL Coach Tarr entering his 5th season as the Head Coach of the Statesmen and 11th year as a high school baseball coach He spent three years as the JV coach at Yorktown and 3 years as the assistant Head Coach at Marshall before taking the Head Coaching position in late 2012 In that time Marshall has a record of 65 31 has won 3 consecutive Conference Titles and is undefeated in conference play since 2014 The 2015 Statesmen were State Runner up and a Washington Post Top 10 team in the final season poll Since 2014 the Statesmen have had nine 1st team All State players and 2 players named State Player of the Year at 5A Marshall has guided the development of 17 college baseball players in the past 4 years including 10 at the Division 1 level Coach Tarr grew up in Arlington County and attended Yorktown High School He played baseball and graduated from Hamilton College before attending Grad School at the University of Liverpool He has worked as a teacher in Fairfax County a full time instructor at the Virginia Baseball Club and for R D Baseball Academy He runs the Cadets Baseball program in support of Marshall Baseball Mike Noyes Associate Head Coach Boys Varsity Baseball Coach Noyes returns for a fifth year with the Statesmen where he has organized the Marshall offense since 2015 Since the start of 2015 the Statesmen have a team batting average of 352 and have scored 477 runs Coach Noyes graduated from George Mason High School where he served as team captain for baseball and football He was a four year varsity letterman as a pitcher outfielder and 1st baseman and a two year varsity football starter ILB Coach Noyes served honorably in the United States Marine Corps He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2001 Previously he held various coaching positions with McLean HS Football but has been a coach with Statesmen Football since 2015 He was Mclean Baseball JV assistant coach 2008 Varsity Assistant Coach 2009 2011 and American Legion Post 1995 Head Coach 2011 2014 He is employed by the City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department 8

Jason McMahon Assistant Coach Boys Varsity Baseball This is Coach McMahon s third season with the George C Marshall baseball program Coach McMahon is a former catcher at George C Marshall High School where he received All District Honors for all three years of his varsity career He was also selected as GCM s Co Player of the Year and received Honorable Mention All Met honors his Senior Year Coach McMahon attended George Mason University playing one season with the Patriots Coach McMahon arrived with the Statesmen in 2015 after coaching eight varsity seasons with the McLean Highlanders He has trained baseball players at various facilities for several seasons and continues to train catchers He is an avid fly fishermen and lives in Vienna with his wife and two children Dan Olds Pitching Coach Boys Varsity Baseball Coach Olds is in his 6th year as the pitching coach for the Statesmen A native of St Louis MO Attended St Thomas Aquinas HS and was an All AAA Conference selection in basketball and baseball Earned scholarships in basketball and baseball at Meramec CC and played both for 2 years before transferring to NW Missouri State in 2003 for baseball where he played 2 years and then 1 year in the independent NY State League Dan is the Owner of R D Baseball Academy which has produced over 100 D 1 committed pitchers and 1 MLB draft pick Included in that list are current former Marshall pitchers Mitch MacKeith Radford Michael Evans JMU and Riley Cummins UVA Will Brooke Coastal Carolina Steven Johel Coastal Carolina Jaime Handley UMBC and Nick Cintron Cornell Coach Olds uses a science based approach to teaching pitching has built one of the top pitching programs in the area at Marshall High School Mike Binns JV Varsity Assistant Coach Boys JV Baseball This is Coach Binns 4th season with the Statesmen and his 1st with the Varsity team Before joining the Marshall Baseball Program he spent two years as an assistant coach with South Lakes Coach Binns has a long history of coaching in Northern Virginia 1st with the Arlington Base Ruth All Stars then with the Arlington Rebels He has coached with the Cadets program since 2012 He is a graduate of Bishop O Connell High School where he was a member of WCAC and State Championship teams in 2003 9

Pat Tarr JV Head Coach Boys JV Baseball Ray Zdanziewicz Assistant JV Coach Coach Tarr is a 5th season as Junior Varsity Coach for the Statesmen He comes to this position after twelve years as the JV Coach at Bishop O Connell High School He started coaching son Aaron in 1988 and has been involved with youth baseball in Arlington ever since He was President of Arlington Senior Babe Ruth Baseball from 1991 1997 managed or assisted with Arlington Post 139 baseball from 1998 to 2008 and has coached several Babe Ruth all star teams at the junior high and high school levels He has earned the 1995 Sportsman of the Year from the Better Sports Club of Arlington and was awarded Volunteer of the Year by Arlington County in 1996 Ray Zdancewicz is in his fourth year at Marshall High School He spent the previous five years on the varsity baseball coaching staff at McLean High School Coach Z has managed championship and All Star teams since 1991 in the McLean Vienna and Falls Church Annandale Babe Ruth Leagues the Falls Church Kiwanis and Vienna Little Leagues and the Northern Virginia Junior CYO League He has also managed Fall franchise teams for Bishop O Connell HS Diamond Jaxx as well as coached Posts 225 and 270 in the District 17 American Legion program He is currently the head coach for Post 130 Boys JV Baseball 2017 Marshall Statesmen Players Ages 9 13 9am 2pm Monday Friday Cost 295 To register www statesmenbaseballcamps com or email AaronTarr06 yahoo com 22

Pete Cain Assistant JV Coach Boys JV Baseball Coach Cain comes to the Statesmen after years of coaching in local youth sports programs Pete has been involved in Arlington Babe Ruth baseball since 1985 was the JV coach at Yorktown HS from 1987 1992 and has been a basketball coach in Falls Church City since 2011 Pete also coached the Falls Church HS summer team in 2016 He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Statesmen Junior Varsity program Jim Jones Assistant JV Coach Boys JV Baseball Coach Jones has been a member of the Marshall coaching staff since 2015 where he has worked primarily with the Varsity squad as the character education coach In his time with the program the Varsity team has a record of 55 14 This year he has an expanded baseball role with the Junior Varsity team while remaining a positive influence on the Varsity team Coach Jones is a seasoned educator in Fairfax County having coached Football at Mt Vernon from 1977 1989 State Title in 1983 Lee High School from 1990 1992 Langley HS from 1993 2000 State Runner up in 1993 and West Springfield from 2000 2010 He has been a teacher in FCPS since 1977 Baseball Summer Camp 3 Sessions July 10 14 July 17 21 August 7 11 W O N P U SIGN Camp Instructed by Marshall Coaching Staff 23
