Back at Starfire Villageafter another successfultreasure hunt,Anabella imaginedSnippy proposing to Sage.She hoped to be therewhen he did.
Thus, that evening at dinnershe revealed her visionand urged Snippyto propose right away.
Snippy blushed ashe pointed out Sagewho was sitting with her sister.
He confessed thathe had been dreamingabout marrying Sageduring the meteor shower.
He shared it would beromantic watching theshooting stars with Sage.He was certain thefour-leaf clover gavehim the courage to propose.
Anabella was thrilled and askedhow they first met.Snippy told her they wereneighbors since birth.
They lived on the edge ofGlitter Forest next to a pondnear one of the farms.
He and Sage grew up together,and they became especiallyclose after her daddy diedwhen she was just a year old.
From that time onSnippy’s mom and dadhelped Sage’s motherraise her kits.He explained thatbaby foxes are called kits.
He told her oneof Sage’sbrothersalways pickedfights with theothers.Since Sage wasthe smallest,Snippy's familyhelpedprotect her.
Eventually his familywanted to be closerto the villageso they moved to athicket near the river.Sage and her familymoved as well,hence they remainedfriends and neighbors.
During Snippy’s story,Rose arrived with herthree fairy friends,Kesa, Tori, and Sarah.When he finished,Rose introduced them andtold Anabella they wereknown as the BFF trio.The three fairies giggledand in unison shoutedbest friends forever!
Kesa started dancingaround Snippy andthe others joined her.They were especially inspiredby the love in his eyes.
They agreed the night ofthe Lyrids would be perfect.A meteor shower,a going-away bash,AND a wedding!A celebration triojust like the BFF trio!The fairies were ecstatic.
They started chanting:Snippy and SageSitting in a treeK - I - S - S - I - N - GFirst comes loveThen comes marriageThen comes kitin a baby carriage.
Bursting with laughter,Anabella and the fairiesencouraged Snippy to scooton over and propose!
When Snippy hesitated,Anabella advised himthat Sage most likelywondered why he hadn’talready asked her.Snippy blushed andadmitted he was very shy.
Anabella grabbed astick and drew a boxin the sand.The fairiesgathered closeto see whatAnabella was up to.
She told him hermother alwayswrote a to-dolist on a pieceof paper andwould checkoff a taskwhen shecompleted it.This helped herget things done.
She declared he only hadone box to checkand gently nudged him,while tapping her footrather impatiently.Then she winked at himas the fairies grinnedand sprinkled him withglitter dust,just for the fun of it.
They all giggled a good while.Suddenly Snippy jumped upand headed toward Sage,just as the fireflieslit up the village.
Anabella gave a thumbs upto Sally and Miss Di,who quickly directedthe songbirdsto commence singinga love balladled by Richey and Limi.
The atmosphere was magicalas Snippy asked Sageto marry him.The audience wasmesmerized,waiting for her answer.
When the song endedSnippy shoutedtriumphantly,she said YES!He announced theywould marry duringthe meteor showercelebration.
Sam and Sydney startedchattering enthusiastically.Chipper congratulated Sagewith a sprig of flowers.Pete and Repeatcouldn't stop hopping.Eddie claimed he would bringthem the biggest ear of corn ever.Happiness filled the air.
Hooty, Snooty,and Hootsterhoot-sanga lively dittywhile the flower fairiessprinkled glitter duston everyone,and the firefliestwinkled especially bright.
It was anothermemorable night inStarfire Village.Anabella beamedas Snippy returned,grabbed the stick,and put a bigcheck markin the box asthe villagersjoyouslycheered.
When Anabella closedher eyes that nightshe smiledthinking aboutthe BFF trioand the meteor showerand the wedding.But then she rememberedEddie's promiseand wondered if therereally could be dangerin such a magical place asStarfire Village...
