In the morning,Anabella awakenedwith a song in her heart.She was in good spiritsknowing she would soonsee her family.
The meadow came alive as the happycampers prepared to return home.
Many were foraging for nuts,seeds, and berries beforeheading into Glitter Forest.Clover was in abundance,which thrilledthe cubs and Sam and Sydney.Clover was their favorite.
Dude, Colt, and Cade headed tothe river to catch some fish,offering to sharewith Gray and Mickey.Miss Di was happy to seetheir new friendship.She knew Starfire Villagewould be safe in the future.
Sage and Snippy took Anabellaalong the thicket where therewere plenty of berries.The sun was shining.The birds were chirping.Happiness filled the air.Anabella confidedshe was secretlydreaming abouther mother’s pancakes.
Soon Sally and Miss Di gatheredthose lingering in the meadowand explained it was timeto send Anabella home.
Miss Di asked Pete and Repeat to bein charge of the expedition.The Admirals agreed to flyoverhead to keep watch.
Many of the woodland creaturesdecided to join Pete and Repeat.The Clarks were excited to seeAnabella’s flower garden.
Dude and Colt and Cade werecurious to catch a glimpse ofAnabella’s dog since she claimedhe looked like them.
Rose and the BFFs wereanticipating the reunionbetween Anabella and her mom.Especially after Rose toldKesa and Tori and Sarahshe heard Anabella’s mom cryingfor Anabella the day before.
Limi and Richey offeredto fly along with the Snagys.
Mr. T and his family of wood ducksregretfully announced theywould not be joining them.They hoped to see her again andpromised to quack loudly when theyflew by her home in the fall.
Although the youngerClarks and Longfellowsweren’t ready to end their reunion,they contemplatedtheir next meet-up in the fall.They turned their frownsupside down.
Francie and her family had to returnhome, near the Cascades,and headed towards the riverwith the Longfellows.Mr. T offered to follow them alongthe river to keep them company.
Chipper said goodbye to her cousinand joined the travelers.Sage and Snippy were excited to sharetheir first adventure together.And naturally the songbirds insistedon going because, well, someonehad to serenade them.
Remember the dream fairiesnever leave Starfire Villageso they shared their cheers andflew off to make glitter dust.Many of the flower fairiesstayed behind to help.It goes without sayingMiss Di was there to supervise,while Sally dashed off to make acheck list of things to do.
Hootie, Snooty, and Hootsterwished Anabella a safe trip home.They pledged to fly by andhoot sing outside her windowfrom time to time.Anabella smiled with happiness,but was also sad to see them go.
The travelers were readyfor their journey.It was not too far,but far enough for a little girlanxious to see her family again.
Gray and Mickey and the cubsfollowed along half way.When it was time to depart,the bears and coyotesvowed to stay in touch.
The trek was fun.Sam and Sydney ran up and down trees, jumping from one to another,relentlessly chattering.Occasionally they gifted some acornsto Emily and Olive, who loved nuts.The songbirds sang happilyand Chipper kept up with the bunnies,who were in the lead.
Finally, Richie and Limi andthe Snagys arrivedto inform them Anabella’s homewas just around the cornerand her mom wasnear the gazebo with her dog.Tearfully they suggestedit was time to part ways.
It was a somber moment as they allsaid goodbye once again to Anabella.Since Rose and the BFFswere not visible to Anabella’s mom,they agreed to stay with heruntil she reached the gazebo.
All the woodland creatures toldAnabella they would hide behindtrees and in the brush along theedge of the forest to watch herreunite with her mom.
They wished hera happy homecomingwith the assurancethey would alwaysremember her.
Suddenly the butterfliesflew by and snuck a kisson Anabella’s noseas she wasleaving the forest.They lovingly told herthey would visither garden often.
Rose and Kesa and Tori and Sarahflew alongside Anabella.She whispered she loved them forever. She could still hear the songbirds,until her dog started barking.
Anabella’s mother instinctivelylooked up to see Anabellaemerge from the forest.With open arms they rantoward each other.A river of tears flowedand even the dog wasjoyfully whimpering.
The flower fairies cried asthey said bye bye one finaltime before flying offtoward the woods.Anabella glanced and waved.Her mom did not notice.
She grabbed Anabella’s handand ran towards the houseso she could call Anabella’s daddy.Anabella hung at the doorwayfor a moment longer,looking out at the forest.She was very emotional,and with a heavy heartshe waved to her friendsone last time.
Her dog wagged his tailand couldn’t stop kissing her.She thought to herself,there’s no place like home,but then she realized there was…
