Salina Saline County War Memorial P O Box 3271 Salina KS 67402 3271 EXPANSION Email UNTY WAR M CO EM E N NC AL I RI O un s The founding committee of the original monument filed dissolution papers with the State of Kansas on June 30 1995 Over two decades later a new committee was formed and the earlier organization was reinstated The previous monument documented names of servicemen from Saline County that gave their lives fighting in the Civil War in 1861 to the Persian Gulf War ending in 1992 by service branch The new design features a symmetrical addition to the East and to the West of the original monument Eight sided benches with joining walkways will provide plenty of seating Black granite panels rest above the seats to complete the octagon benches which resemble the 1994 original monument Documentation of military actions and other pertinent historical events will be etched on the panels Most of the panels will be blank after construction as well as the walkway paving bricks allowing the opportunity to add inscriptions many decades from now The SSCWM will remain prepetual to honor those that have served SALINA SA LI info sunsetwarmemorial com se twa l r m e m o ri a co m In Sunset Park The Salina Saline Co War Memorial located in Sunset Park is expanding to honor additional Veterans The War Memorial was dedicated to the city of Salina in June of 1994 We are a non profit organization relying on public support to fund construction The Walk of Honor will continue with purchases of inscribed paving bricks Continue reading to learn how you can help us to reach our goal by supporting our fundraising efforts
