General Content Letter from the Director Dear Randolph Community Covid 19 Restrictions and Policies The staff of the Randolph Community School and Randolph Township Schools are pleased to offer our catalog of programs for Spring and Summer 2021 The past several months have been challenging for our entire community As spring approaches there are plenty of opportunities to learn grow and experience For the first time the Community School s offerings will include classes for students of all ages and adults throughout the community COVID 19 necessitates changes in the Community School s programming in both the Spring and Summer session During the Spring session all classes will be offered virtually Nearly all programs will be offered in person in the Summer session The Spring session includes several enrichment courses all offered virtually to limit exposure to COVID 19 and prevent school closures Our Spring session features brand new yoga and culinary programs In addition to our own in house courses the Community School has partnered with two community organizations Breakaway Prep of Morristown Randolph will offer individual and small group SAT and ACT prep sessions Additionally we ve partnered with ed2go to offer online fundamental and career training virtual courses These programs add hundreds of opportunities to our catalog After last summer where COVID 19 led to cancellations of all in person summer programs our entire staff is excited to welcome students back for a new set of summer camp experiences Summer Trailblazers is our new day camp combining and consolidating our prior camps Camp Summer Stars Camp Summer Kids and Camp Discovery In addition to this traditional day camp our specialty offerings have been expanded to include Culinary Arts and additional instrument selections in our Music Camp Also returning in person this summer are our many popular Summer Academy programs The plans to return to in person programs this summer come with a series of restrictions to protect the health and safety of our students and staff Different program will have different restrictions based on the type of program and number of students Some of our planned restrictions are detailed in this catalog but more information will be shared with registrants of the various programs If you have questions at any time please feel free to reach out to us at communityschool rtnj org Sincerely Stephen Frost Community School Director Covid 19 Measures to Prevent Exposure Limited capacity for all in person programs Social distancing Cohorts for students to limit exposure Mask wearing and other personal protective equipment will be used Additional sanitization procedures Virtual option available for many programs if conditions are unsafe These measures are just a sample of the steps being taken to limit the exposure of our students and staff to COVID 19 COVID 19 Requirements Anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID 19 or is a close contact of someone who has been diagnosed with COVID 19 must follow all Department of Health recommendations No student should attend if they have been advised to quarantine or are required to do so under NJ law or executive order All registrants will be required to certify at registration that they will self check for symptoms each day stay home if symptomatic and advise the Community School of any symptoms that may occur or of a positive COVID test that may impact any program COVID 19 Payment Information If COVID 19 impacts participation in a program a refund may be available Those who are diagnosed with COVID 19 or who are a close contact of someone who has been diagnosed with COVID 19 will be refunded for programs or weeks of programs where applicable that have not yet started with documentation from a medical professional or public health department Refunds will not be offered for quarantines as a result of travel regardless of the necessity for travel for programs or weeks of programs that have already started or for virtual programs Emergency Closing Info If Randolph Township Schools are closed for an emergency the Community School will also be closed Information about school closures will be published on the district s website at www rtnj org on the district s social media and in a direct message to anyone in a program that is affected REGISTER NOW 5

COLLEGE PREP College is around the corner for high school students The Randolph Community School has multiple programs to aide students in the college process RANDOLPH 8 COMMUNITY SCHOOL Tuesday May 4 2021 7 00PM 8 00PM 25 COLLEGE ESSAY WORKSHOP This week long workshop with review how to write the college essay tips for writing the essay time to work on a draft and time for feedback on the drafts written Open to all students that will be in grades 10 11 or 12 during the 20212022 school year This class may be offered virtually if in person meetings are not permitted because of the pandemic Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday June 21 June 25 2021 RHS 100 10 00AM 12 00PM REGISTER NOW College Prep SAT ACT PREP The Morristown Randolph office of Breakaway Prep has partnered with the Randolph Community School to help students prepare for the PSAT SAT and ACT this spring April June Packages of 6 or 12 one hour one on one sessions with experienced teachers and tutors are available for 750 or 1400 respectively Sessions are designed to cover all aspects of the PSAT SAT Evidence Based Reading Writing and Language Math Essay and ACT English Math Reading Science Essay while also focusing on key test taking strategies including time management Because the sessions are one on one attention will also be devoted to helping students identify individual strengths and weaknesses and develop a study plan as the test date approaches Free practice testing is also included as are basic materials Students will be provided with additional recommended materials for purchase COLLEGE ESSAY NIGHT The workshop will include an overview of the college essay writing process including prompts writing style brainstorming ideas and tips This class will be offered virtually on Microsoft Teams Students in grades 9 10 11 and 12 are eligible to participate

SUMMER TRAILBLAZERS Summer Trailblazers is the Randolph Community School s brand new camp for students entering kindergarten through grade 8 in the 2021 2022 school year This is an opportunity for all students experience have fun and stay safe Space is limited register now July 6 August 13 2021 6 weeks total 325 per week minimum of two weeks required All registrants to have access to camp from 7 00AM 6 00PM Core activities will run from 9 00AM 4 00PM This program takes place at the Randolph Middle School THEME Game Show Week Week 2 July 12 to July 16 Camp Carnival Week 3 July 19 to July 23 Camp Olympics Week 4 July 26 to July 30 Beach Week Week 5 August 2 to August 6 Decades Week Week 6 August 9 to August 13 End of Camp Party Summer Trailblazers DATES Week 1 July 6 to July 9 JOIN IN THE FUN OF SUMMER TRAILBLAZERS FAQ WHAT DOES A DAY AT CAMP LOOK LIKE Throughout the day campers rotate through camp activities including team building arts and crafts pedal carts yoga PE games cooking and much more taught by experienced instructors The core camp activities will be scheduled from 9 00AM to 4 00PM Before 9 00AM and after 4 00PM special activities will be planned for all campers to give families arrival and pickup flexibility RANDOLPH COMMUNITY SCHOOL 18 WHAT TYPES OF STAFF MEMBERS ARE LEADING SUMMER TRAILBLAZERS Summer Trailblazers is led by our Camp Administration all of whom are certified teachers A number of counselors and specialists including at least one in each cohort of students will be a certified teacher WILL THERE BE TRIPS In prior summer trips were an integral part of the camp experience While we still hope to travel this summer the majority of camp experience are being planned on site at Randolph Middle School This will include bringing many safe experiences to the facility in place of trips Some local trips will be incorporated where possible As with all camp planning safety will be the determining factor in booking any trips and the health conditions at the time of camp will ultimately dictate the trips that can occur EXPERIENCE FUN SAFETY 19

REGISTRATION REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT POLICIES REFUNDS WITHDRAWALS The following payment and registration policies apply to all programs Select programs may have variations of these policies as noted Any class is subject to cancellation up to the start date of the class if registration is not sufficient Please register early If the Randolph Community School cancels your course you will receive a full refund REGISTRATION All program registration must be completed at the district s Community Pass site at https register capturepoint com RandolphTownshipSchools Registration will not be accepted over the phone by email or in any other format Space in all programs is limited so early registration is encouraged Once programs are filled a wait list will automatically begin Programs without sufficient enrollment may be cancelled If you want to withdraw from a class before it begins you must submit your request in writing to communityschool rtnj org at least one full week prior to the first class meeting not counting the day of class For example if class begins on a Monday the Community School must receive your withdrawal refund request by midnight of the Sunday one week prior to the start date You will receive a refund less 10 of the cost of the course up to a maximum of 50 If you withdraw from the class after the first session no refund or credit will be given If you want to withdraw or miss a class due to personal reasons illness injury negligence technical errors or an oversight of your own no refund or credit will be given Notifications about courses will be sent through Community Pass Ensure that your email address and other contact information is correct in Community Pass PAYMENT Payments will be accepted in three ways Credit card this is the easiest method of payment and can be completed directly on Community Pass No credit card payments will be accepted in any other forum E check similar to credit cards e checks are accepted on Community Pass No e check payments will be accepted in any other forum Physical Check checks may be mailed not dropped off to Randolph Community School 25 School House Road Randolph NJ 07869 Payment is required at the time of registration Those who register for courses and do not make payment within five days will be withdrawn No student may start a class or program without making payment SUMMER CAMP POLICIES At registration a 100 deposit per child is due Those who register and do not pay this deposit within five days will be withdrawn Camp tuition is due in full by June 1 Any registration after this date requires an immediate payment of the tuition in full Children with an unpaid balance will not be admitted to camp until the balance has been paid and may be deregistered Please note that payment is not handled through camp staff and must be provided to the Community School staff directly or paid online via credit card or e check After June 1 refunds will not be offered without a doctor s note The 25 per week withdrawal fee will still apply REGISTER NOW RANDOLPH COMMUNITY SCHOOL 22 23 Registration Registration may be cancelled prior to June 1 subject to a 25 withdrawal fee per week of registration
