florissantmo.com6Police DepartmentThe Florissant Police Department is proud to announce the success of the 8th annual Summons of Joy campaign. Thanks to the generosity of local churches, they were able to donate $4,200 to the program, which gives officers the opportunity to hand out 42 $100 gift cards to individuals and families in the community over the holiday season. The Summons of Joy program, which has been running for eight years, is a partnership between the Florissant Police Department and North County Churches Uniting for Racial Harmony and Justice (NCCU). It aims to build positive relationships between the police and the community they serve and has received a range of emotional reactions from recipients in the past, including hugs, tears of joy, and handshakes. This year marked the first Summons of Joy campaign without Dr. Rance Thomas, co-founder of NCCU and its president since its inception, who passed away last year. Despite his absence, the program remains a meaningful and impactful tradition for both the community and the officers involved. "We would be remiss not to mention that this is the first year without our friend Dr. Rance Thomas," said Chief Fagan. "This program continues to positively impact our community and our officers look forward to this every year."The gift cards were randomly distributed to unsuspecting recipients over the holiday season. The Florissant Police Department looks forward to continuing the Summons of Joy program for many more years to come.Messag fro Officer MichaePD Drivin p PD Vacatio pFlorissan Polic Sellin T-Shirt t Benefi th Specia OlympicThe Florissant Police is selling 2023 Missouri Law Enforcement Torch Run T-Shirts to benefit the Missouri Special Olympics. The shirts are $15 each, small-XL Please contact Officer Michael at smichael@florissantmo.com or call 314.830.6042
