Letter from the Chief Financial Officer Mike Weber “The Circle of Life. I kept hearing that Lion King anthem in my mind as I attended recent events for our newest soon-to-be Rieth-Riley retirees. Seeing current employees alongside past and future retirees reminded me what a momentous adventure our ESOP has been over these past four decades. It is certainly a blessing to see our new retirees celebrate the conclusion of their careers, knowing that they are well- positioned for the next chapter. We all have had the good fortune to be part of this ESOP journey together, at all stages of our respective careers. As you’ll recall from the Lion King, Mufasa proudly holds baby Simba aloft, giving a glimpse of the future king and assuring everyone that they would be taken care of. The unspoken message was, all is well, and all will continue to be well. Such assurances were necessary, since there is always uncertainty, and sometimes even fear, when a group is asked to put their faith in someone new. Or something new. Back when the ESOP started in 1986, I’m sure those employees were uneasy as well - wondering what to expect from this strange new ESOP creature. Would it really be able to increase in value, to flourish? To deliver future security as promised? Fortunately for us, those first employees and retirees got the ESOP off to a great start. The next generation built on their success and made the ESOP into what it is today. Our challenge is to sustain and grow the ESOP for coming generations of employee owners. We have been blessed with exceptional financial performance in recent years, but this has not always been the case. There have been plenty of ups and downs during the past 40 years, including recessions, periods of inflation and funding downturns. These were offset by growth through acquisitions and our gritty determination to survive the tough times through focusing on the basics. Controlling what we can control has been the key to weathering the storms, and ultimately adding value to our ESOP. There have been many changes over the life of our ESOP, some subtle, others more dramatic. Simba likewise had to fight off self-doubt, some dubious hyenas and one cranky uncle on his way to becoming the lion king, but he made it thanks to sheer determination. At the end of his journey, and that of our newest retirees, we say an enthusiastic “Hakuna Matata”! Which means no worries. An apt metaphor indeed! Rieth-Riley’s vision is to “Continually Grow and Prudently Sustain the ESOP,” while our mission is to “Be the Absolute Best at the Basics”. Year after year, we have achieved success through disciplined excellence in those basic rudiments of the business, including sound bidding, job execution, safety, quality and customer service, without compromising our core values of honesty and integrity. Each year is another building block that strengthens the foundation for our ESOP’s continued growth, not only for us, but for successive generations of Rieth-Riley employees. Continue to focus on what is in front of you every day. When we all do this, day in and day out, the cumulative result equates to future opportunities and growth for our ESOP not only for us, but for future generations. Thank you again for your efforts this past year. Let’s continue to exceed expectations in the future! 1

SAFETY by Bob Montel As we continue to grow as a company, so does the safety department. We have three new safety superintendents starting this year. Understanding our company and learning the offices, names, chain of command, and job sites is a large task. Then add the various governmental rules and regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Homeland Security, and Maritime. At times, it can become overwhelming. It takes years to develop a thorough understanding. Being a new employee, along with learning a new job, is difficult. If you happen to meet one of our new Safety Superintendents, please introduce yourself and share your experiences and knowledge to help them understand what you do for Rieth-Riley. LAFAYETTE by Chris Weinkauf The last few years, Lafayette has been blessed with several large, multi-year projects. All of these projects were large tonnage projects and enabled Lafayette to enjoy several strong years. Those projects are now in the rear view mirror and 2024 is shaping up to be a very different year in terms of tonnage, type of work, and project size. Thankfully, our estimating staff has secured several other projects this past offseason which will keep this large train rolling down the tracks! While we still need to perform, Lafayette is set up for a successful season again with a variety of INDOT, municipality, commercial, schools, and community crossing projects. We appreciate our team’s effort and long hours in the off season to secure and solidify Lafayette’s backlog for the start of the 2024 Season! Besides the Monticello Roundabout project, the other INDOT projects that we have started and will be pushing to complete by fall are the US 24 Reconstruction in Reynolds, SR-263 in West Lebanon, US 24 Resurfacing, I-65 Patching and Resurfacing, as well as several other small structure and bridge projects. Those projects along with the various city, county, and commercial work we have for the season will keep Lafayette very busy this year. We definitely will need to “get it done” every single day in 2024! Lafayette’s EMPLOYEES are our greatest asset! Our phenomenal growth would not be possible without them! Please welcome our newest team members in 2024, Noah Bierma, Tyler Sparger (both Estimator/ Project Manager trainees), and our 2024 summer interns Matthew Bayley (with the Project Managers), Cross Watson (with Quality Control), Kyle Wauro is in the Field! Lafayette IS THE BEST complete sitework contractor in the Lafayette market! That continued success is because OUR EMPLOYEES are ABSOLUTELY BEST AT THE BASICS!- Honesty & Integrity- Quality Products- Safety- Customer Service- Sound Bidding- Sound Execution! THANK YOU TO ALL of Lafayette’s FIELD, OFFICE, QUALITY ASSURANCE, ESTIMATORS and the Summer INTERNS for their continued efforts towards Rieth-Riley’s continued success in 2024!! I-65 NB 4

HOUGHTON LAKE by Nick Opperman With old man winter deciding to pack his bags early this year, we got a well-deserved head start with unseasonably warm conditions. Crews were able to get an early start not only at the plant for R&M but also on our MDOT projects. Special thanks to the Lansing area for sending us one of their dirt crews this spring, allowing us to utilize manpower and equipment to keep this work in house. Our QC department continues to grow with the addition of Neil Garner as our new QC Manager. Many of you will know Neil from his time in the Benton Harbor / Kalamazoo area. Neil was able to join our area, which also allowed him and his wife to move back to their hometown. If you see Neil, congratulate him on the move home! The QC department is also running strong with mix designs and testing to start the season. We have some upcoming changes in suppliers this year and we are looking forward to establishing new relationships. 2024 also brought a handful of new members to our team. Milena Haywood, Ricky Hadstate, Larry Rau, and Ralph Rosebrugh will fill various positions on the crew and at the plant, strengthening our team. We also would like to welcome intern Mitch Conant. Mitch just finished his freshman year at Northern Michigan University, where he studies construction management. He resides near the Michigan border in Ohio and is looking forward to a summer working with us in Northern Michigan. Execution of the basics has proven itself to be valuable as we have been awarded the 2023 NAPA Quality in Construction Award for Excellence on US-23 in Arenac county. This project was a single course mill and fill along Lake Huron on Michigan’s East side. This accomplishment by everyone involved was a great example of teamwork and dedication. Thank you to everyone who was part of this project. 5

LANSING by Adam Roberts After completing a challenging and successful 2023 paving season, we send special thanks to each of our team members for their relentless hard work and dedication. With 2023 in the books, we are eager to begin the 2024 season. The estimators have been pursuing bidding opportunities, ensuring that we make the most of the upcoming season. Our work mix is a little different from last year’s multiple interstate projects as we have secured multiple county paving packages spanning Eaton, Livingston, Jackson and Clinton counties. We will be paving three airport projects as well as some local agency work. There's still room for a few more projects to round out the season, and we are ready to seize those opportunities. This spring we provided three days of plant tours at the Lansing plant. We welcomed students and faculty from Eaton RESA, the local career & technical education center, that covers most of the high schools in the counties that we service. The plant tour and presentation outlined the varied opportunities in HMA construction, and the students were introduced to not only the highly visible operator and laborer jobs, but also to the not so visible jobs, such as QC, safety and equipment maintenance. Hopefully this will entice some young men and women to a career in road construction. We will have four interns this year to support our QC lab and project managers. Grant Bachman returns for his third year, joined by first-year interns Nathan Bremer, Ben Flake and Ethan Anderson. Please extend a warm welcome to them. We are excited to have you on the team this summer. We would like to congratulate Adam Roberts, Project Manager/Estimator, on welcoming his second child, Khloe, on April 29th. Cheers to a successful, safe, and fulfilling paving season ahead! Together, let's make this season one to remember! 6

TALENT ACQUISITION by Megan Haynes Interns I’m excited to share that we have 50 interns this summer! This year, 18 colleges/universities are represented. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to mentor the next generation of the workforce. Historically, our internship program has been the most robust pipeline for talent, leading to meaningful careers at Rieth-Riley. For the first time, we are hosting a teacher externship in Indianapolis! Tim Tarplee joins us from New Palestine High School, where he teaches the Civil Construction Pathway. He will spend time in QC, estimating, and field operations. This unique externship experience will help strengthen the program in his classroom. Workforce Development . Speaking of teachers, for the 4th year in a row, Rieth-Riley has supported ICI’s Teaching Training. Rieth- Riley hosted an asphalt plant tour at our 96th St. lab, a Clear Path job site tour, and took the teachers to dinner. Beginning this fall, the Civil Construction Pathway will be taught in 17 schools throughout Indiana. There is lots of excitement in Lansing! After completing plant tours from Eaton RESA for Mechanical Engineering and AIS Heavy Equipment students, we had a student show interest, and he was hired the next week as a laborer! To welcome him to the team, he received a customized hi-vis reflective shirt with his last name and some swag! These tours make an impact! 7

CAL-REGION by Chris Speichert As roads wind onward, last year’s tales fade into the distant bend, and we embrace the spring, for which the smell of asphalt permeates the air and smoke rolls from the stacks. Congratulations to everyone at Rieth-Riley on a fantastic year in 2023. We hope everyone had a chance to enjoy some time off over the holidays and recharge their batteries. Ready to embark on Rieth-Riley’s 108th season. This year looks like it’s going to be another banner year for the Cal Region. This winter, we had a major renovation to our Gary asphalt plant by adding six new silos and the new MAXAM Bintop Conveyor system. Also, we replaced our slat conveyor at our Valparaiso Plant. These improvements will help us continue producing the highest quality mixes for many years. From a safety standpoint, we had another above-average year. We will continue to focus on safety and ensure that everyone returns home to their families after every shift. The Quality Department had another great year and achieved our target bonus. We again had a project, US 231 Asphalt Resurfacing, which was recognized with a NAPA award for quality in construction. Congratulations to everyone involved in that project, and we look forward to getting another one this year. Over the past six months, we have added many new faces to our team. Here are the newest members of the Rieth-Riley family. Justin Roark started at Rose Paving in Illinois in 2019 and relocated to their Nashville, TN division in 2021. Justin came on board in March as a Project Manager and is very thankful to be joining the team laying black gold. He enjoys backcountry snowmobiling in the West in the winter and riding his harley or working on cars and trucks in his shop in the summer. Sandra Thomas- Sandra joined our team this spring as an Estimating Administrator. Sandra was born in Chicago and moved to Indiana four years ago. She is a die-hard Chicago sports fan and enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, and sitting on the beach with a good book when not spending time with her family. She has an eclectic love for music, from 70’s rock to jazz, loves the sunshine, and has a zeal for life. She is excited that her road has led her here to Rieth-Riley. Jacob Ogiego recently joined us after a two-year stint as a superintendent in the safety department. He graduated from Purdue Northwest with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys bodybuilding, hiking, fishing, home brewing, and attending concerts. He is very excited to join the superintendent ranks and advance with the company. Hilary Bostick just started with us as the plant accountant. She has worked in the trucking logistics and asphalt industries for six years. She enjoys crocheting, listening to true crime podcasts, and attending her daughters’ sporting events with her husband. Hilary is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management and is looking forward to the opportunities Rieth-Riley can offer. We want to welcome all the new Rieth-Riley ESOP personnel in Cal-Region and all around the company. Good luck to everyone this year! We hope you all have a great year! 8

SOUTH BEND by Garrett VanParys Greetings from the South Bend and Elkhart Area! As the 2024 construction season starts, we are excited to tackle another exciting and busy year. This 2024 season is full of exciting challenges and plenty of opportunities. Below are just a few of our projects worth noting: SBN Reconstruct Taxiway B & Apron Bid D – A project that will build off the previous bid C package we completed last year, which includes constructing more of the new taxiway and reconstruction of the apron - project to be completed this construction season. McKinley Hwy Reconstruction—an LPA project with St. Joseph County and INDOT, replaces the existing two-lane asphalt roadway with a four-lane concrete roadway with a turn lane. This two-year project began in 2023 and is slated to be completed this construction season. State Road 2 – A project in conjunction with the Rieth-Riley Laporte team. This project is a 4” mill and resurface, with asphalt patching. Along with the asphalt work, there are various drainage improvements and an addition of a box culvert. This project is a 2-year job that kicked off early this 2024 season and will finish during the 2025 construction season. Sunnyside Avenue is a 32-month-long project with the Rieth-Riley Cal-Region team. This project is an LPA with INDOT and Elkhart Couty. The project includes two bridges over Yellow Creek River and the addition of an overpass over U.S. 33, railroad tracks, and C.R. 45. Along with the three bridges, there will be demolition of commercial and residential buildings, various underground utility replacements, new round-a-bout, and full roadway reconstruction. This project will also feature the addition of a new lift station. This project will begin this 2024 construction season and continue into 2026. INDOT Projects – Cleveland and Beech Road round-a-bout, SR 3 and U.S. 20, and bike and pedestrian facilities in South Bend. We have also made a great start on securing several commercial and municipal projects for 2024, such as the City of South Bend, South Bend Avenue, St. Joseph County resurfacing, Elkhart County CCMG, Benham Ave lift station, Plymouth paving package, Middlebury schools paving, PHM parking lot improvements, and some subdivision and commercial parking lot work starting back up. Along with the work we are tackling this season, we have an opportunity to take on even more. Amazon announced an $11 billion investment to build a data center in the New Carlisle area. This investment and a previously announced battery factory offer many work opportunities. We have already acquired some of this work and will continue to bid on the remaining work. We would also like to welcome two new ESOP employees to the South Bend and Elkhart area. Jim Sculati has joined our South Bend/Elkhart area as our General Pipe Superintendent. In addition, we also have Tracy Adams joining our office as our new accounting clerk. We look forward to a bright future for our area while remembering to keep our focus on being the absolute best at the basics to achieve our shared goal of prudently growing and strengthening our ESOP. Thank you for your continued efforts to promote our ESOP by doing the same in your areas. The South Bend and Elkhart area wishes everyone a safe, healthy, and productive 2024 construction season! 9

LAPORTE by Patrick Mullin The 2024 paving season is upon the LaPorte area, and we look forward to a quality year. We hope to have a successful year by focusing on the safety of our crews and the quality of our craftsmanship. Over the winter, we did some housekeeping around the office by adding walls and shuffling personnel. We now have ample space to work hard to fill the work on books. Our estimators worked hard over the winter, and we have captured much of the market for both INDOT, County, and CCMG projects. For INDOT work, we will finish previous work for the Chessie Trail Phase 2 and Added Lanes at CR325 projects. We are joining forces with the South Bend office for the State Road 2 project, bringing tons of HMA and crew hours to our pipe guys. The estimators have won us several trail jobs, which will help link New Buffalo along Lake Michigan and eventually to Chicago. 2024 also brings another INDOT Roundabout project we are excited to work on. Finally, we are teaming up with the Gary area and some other contractors on several bridge deck overlay projects by providing them with HMA. For CCMG projects, the list is getting longer every week. So far, Carlos and his staff have secured Michigan City, Porter County, Laporte County, and Beverley Shores. They look forward to this spring's release of CCMG funds so they can put their estimating skills to work. On the personnel front, Karyssa Wagner has joined our office staff and has been a great addition to the team in LaPorte. Peter McNicholas has returned for his second summer as an intern. This year, he will be focusing on learning how to be an estimator. He has already promised to bring big work to the area while he acquires the skills needed. This summer, we do have some expected retirees. Samantha Bragg and Eddie Holliday will be living the retired life come mid-year. Congratulations to both for the years and years of hard work and attention to their jobs. Rieth Riley will miss both of you. We hope everyone has a SAFE year and produces QUALITY work. 10

GRAND RAPIDS by Ryan Craven This will be another extremely busy season for us here in West Michigan. All three plants and crews are rolling!! Workloads are filling, and we are looking forward to a safe and successful season. We want to welcome two new ESOP employees, Linda Chezem-Kanoza and Kyle Dehning. Linda has several years of administrative and problem-solving skills in the construction industry. Kyle was an intern for us during the 2023 season in our QC department and came aboard full time as a QC road technician. This year, we also have four interns. Nicholas Vanderweele is working with our estimators/project managers. Trevor Veine and Youssef Semia are working with our QC department, and Ian Boden is working with our field operations. Some of our highlighted jobs for the 2024 season and beyond are I-196 Business Loop, M- 89 roundabout in Allegan, Miller Knoll Commercial site, Meijer in Grand Haven, and West Ottawa School. Our largest job awarded to date is I-96 Bliss Rd to Sunfield Rd, which is a three-year project. As we embark on another safe and successful season, I want to remind everyone that we are people who have pride as well as ownership in everything we do here at Rieth-Riley. I’m proud to call you all my work family. Success is what we make of it! #RIETHRILEYSTRONG 11

Benton Harbor/Kalamazoo by Adam Rochefort Off to the races! Benton Harbor/Kalamazoo started this season full steam ahead, thanks mainly to the I-94 reconstruction project just outside our front door. We anticipate a few more great years with this monster job on the schedule. We look forward to picking up more commercial work for our third crew and keeping Kalamazoo loaded in the competitive bigger-city market. Along with the paving prosperity, we have quite a few personnel changes to start off this year. Neil Garner – QC Area Manager – Moved up north to be closer to family and take on the role of QC Area Manager. Brady Reynolds – QC Lab Manager – Filling in the lost boots of Neil as our QC Area Manager. Jake Cowsert – Highly skilled QC Tech turned QC Lab Manager. Justin Krueger – Former QC Density Tech, is now an Estimator in Benton Harbor. Hunter Adams – Welcome to the ESOP family as a QC tech. Nick Eaton – Estimating intern in Benton Harbor. Charly Klett – QC Tech Intern in Kalamazoo. Eric Green, our esteemed Sales Manager, is retiring after an incredible 31 years of dedicated service to Rieth-Riley. Eric, we're grateful for your invaluable contributions and wish you all the best in your well-deserved retirement. Please let us know when we can visit you on your private island(s)! 12

BIG RAPIDS, LUDINGTON, AND MANISTEE by Matthew Skiver The 2024 paving season has kicked off for the Big Rapids area, and we are excited to get back to work. Our asphalt plants finished up spring maintenance the first week of May, and we are hoping to start off the year on a good note. Ludington's tonnage is mainly filled with commercial, private, and county work. Big Rapids and the Manton Plant have a healthy amount of work spread out amongst state, county, and commercial work. This year, the Michigan docks are forecasted to have a good season, supplying the surrounding asphalt plants, concrete plants, and customers with dock material. We are looking forward to having another productive year as a company and as an area. To ensure that we can achieve this, we need to emphasize the importance of safety and quality. It's crucial that we are vigilant and look out for ourselves and our fellow coworkers every day. A huge thank you to everyone, and the hard work that they put in throughout the year to make Rieth-Riley what it is today. 13 5th Avenue Parking Lot - Manistee

CLEARPATH CORRIDOR INDIANAPOLIS by Jazmin Ramirez The Clear Path 465 project's momentum continues into 2024. With the light winter completion of work, Rieth-Riley is poised for another great year. Following significant progress in 2023, which saw the introduction of new travel lanes and ramps on I-69 and I-465, 2024 promises to be just as productive. This year's primary areas of focus include: Bridge construction within the main interchange. The addition of travel lanes on I-465. The finalization of the 82nd Street ramps. Significant progress has been made in the corridor in the first half of 2024. Rieth-Riley poured approximately 900 cubic yards of concrete at Bridge 1 deck, and set eighteen (18) 170,000-pound / 85-ton beams at Bridge 3 using a 375-ton capacity lattice boom crawler crane. Roughly 70,000 square feet of MSE wall have been completed this year, with several walls to be near or at completion by the end of the season. Rieth-Riley got an early start on pouring roughly 8,200 linear feet of moment slab in both contract areas, and our partners have worked diligently to place continuously reinforced concrete pavement to facilitate major traffic switches coming this Summer and Fall. 2024 PROJECT OF THE YEAR On April 16th, Rieth-Riley was awarded the 2024 Project of the Year from the American Society of Civil Engineers, Indiana. This award was for our Broad Ripple Avenue Improvement Project with Indianapolis DPW, and the designers were Lochmueller Group & Butler, Fairman, & Seufert. John Tuddy was the General Superintendent, and Josh Guerin was the Project Manager. Both were there to accept the award for Rieth-Riley. John has been with Rieth-Riley for almost 30 years. We are proud to have him as one of our General Superintendents in the Indianapolis Area. SERVICE MEMBER PATRIOT AWARD Michael Pitz, Quality Control for Rieth-Riley, recently returned from deployment. Upon returning, Michael wanted to acknowledge Brian Carlson, QC Area Manager, by awarding him the Patriot Award. This award recognizes the efforts made to support citizen warriors through various measures, including flexible schedules, time off before and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed. PENDLETON HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL Civil construction students at Pendleton Heights High School had the opportunity to learn about Asphalt 101 from Indy Area QC Manager Brian Carlson. A few weeks after the presentation, students attended a plant tour at the 96th Street plant. Students were provided with proper PPE to wear during plant and project visits. We are working on more plant tours and site visits for the students. 15

PHEND & BROWN by Tanja Bish Phend & Brown welcomed Spring with open arms, and have entered the 2024 season with great excitement for the year ahead. Phend & Brown is continuing with the INDOT B-41847 CR 1300 Bridge, B-42579 US-31 Bridge, and the R-41154 Warsaw Sidewalks projects but has also added the R-42968 Ft Wayne Sidewalks, Kosciusko County CCMG, Southwire Elm Road Addition, Warsaw CCMG, and Warsaw Airport E1 Taxiway projects. Improvements are being made at the Leesburg plant, with significant upgrades to the asphalt plant coming this winter. In March and early April, two estimators attended career expos hosted by surrounding high schools. This was a great opportunity to show young men and women what careers are available in our industry and connect with these young people early on. Andrew Schouten, Estimator/PM, attended a career fair at Columbia City High School hosted by the Whitley County Consolidated Schools Career and Technical Education program. Students from Columbia City, Whitko, and Churubusco High School also attended. Columbia City is adding the Civil Construction Pathway this fall. What exciting opportunities for these students! In April, Riley Wagoner, Estimator/PM, attended a career expo hosted by Kosciusko County. This event hosted several area high schools with around 1500 juniors and seniors in attendance. Riley was able to connect with students regarding careers within our industry. We welcomed a new ESOP employee, Connie Dawson, to the payroll position. Connie is quickly learning the asphalt construction world and is a great addition to the Milford office. Ross Wagoner, who recently finished his freshman year at Ball State University, joined Phend & Brown as an intern for the summer. Ross will return this fall for his sophomore year to continue his studies in Construction Management. We’ve got the Wagoner brothers in the office now as Ross joins his brother Riley, our newest Estimator/PM, who joined Phend & Brown in 2023. We are happy to have the Wagoner brothers on board. We wish everyone a safe and successful season! US 30 Columbia City H.S US 31 16

PETOSKEY / AFTON KASSON SAND AND GRAVEL by Mike Ellwanger Greetings from Northern Michigan. This year's winter was very mild, and we couldn't enjoy many of our favorite winter activities. However, it did allow us to get a head start on plant R&M, equipment repairs, estimating, and even some early dirt work, which gave us a good jump on the season. We are very fortunate to see many familiar faces returning to our crews, and we had very little need to hire new seasonal employees. While many companies struggle to retain and find qualified personnel, it's great to be part of an organization with hardworking and talented people who want to return each year. As an example of their quality-minded work ethic, the Petoskey area received two APAM awards last season: US-31/M-22 Roundabout – Category 3 Award of Excellence Boyne City Schools – Category 8 Award of Merit Everyone's efforts have provided a great workload and many opportunities to perform as we entered spring. The early spring allowed us to get a head start on a Meijer expansion project that is just wrapping up, and we will soon begin the second year of our I-75 Cheboygan County project. In addition, we've added the I-75 Business Loop in Gaylord and have secured two projects with Amazon, along with many great county paving packages, commercial projects, and private work. Our shop is currently wrapping up a sizeable spring-cleaning project; contractors have been working to replace the flooring, ceiling tiles, windows, duct cleaning, and a fresh coat of paint. Fortunately, we have such a great facility, and it was time for a little refresh. Our shop personnel have been busy throughout the winter and spring, ensuring equipment is in good, safe operating condition, and ready to get to work. Asphalt plant and aggregate operations have been busy preparing for the season. Both Kasson and our Levering Plant underwent some capital improvement projects. Kasson successfully implemented a new wash plant and many upgrades to the main crushing spread, while at our Levering plant, we expanded our footprint and upgraded to underground power, both of which increased our stockpiling areas. A new control tower fabricated in-house was also installed at the Levering plant. 17

Page 20

PETOSKEY / AFTON KASSON SAND AND GRAVEL by Mike Ellwanger Our aggregate division looks to have a very full schedule this season. Many thanks go out to the Grand Rapids, Houghton Lake, and Lansing areas for utilizing our crushing spreads this season. What a great opportunity to work for our own company and strengthen the ESOP. The QC department has seen some changes, with Neil Garner taking over as the new QC manager. The 790 group welcomes Neil and looks forward to adding his experience to an already knowledgeable group. We'd also like to acknowledge our QC department's huge role in earning significant incentives for asphalt mixes and density this past season. We have several ESOP employees retiring in June, and we would like to extend sincere appreciation and congratulations on their many years of hard work and dedication to Rieth-Riley. Mark Wagner worked as a Superintendent and Project Manager, Dwayne Bean ran the Hudson Plant Lab, and Karl Grockau ran crushing operations and wash plants for Petoskey and Kasson. We wish you all the best in your retirement! As another successful season comes to a close, and the 2024 season kicks into high gear, it's a wonderful time to recognize and appreciate the efforts and many accomplishments of everyone at Rieth-Riley and the potential opportunities that lay ahead. I hope everyone has a very safe and productive season. 18

TOWN & COUNTRY Written by Mark Slaughter Warmer spring temperatures finally reached the Midwest, thawing out our plants and prompting the bustle of this year's preparations. As this season's safety meetings commence across Northwest Indiana, the crews begin to come out of hibernation. We would like to officially welcome Paige Willette to our ESOP team as she has accepted a full-time position with us as an estimator/project manager, and we wish her much success in her future here at Town & Country. We would also like to welcome our new temporary team member, Eddie Holliday, as a growth consultant to help us branch out into different prospects within construction. Eddie will be helping our team become more familiar with concrete, storm drainage, and excavation work this season. We are excited to announce the launch of T&C's new safety program which emphasizes a 'safety first' culture with accountability. The program focuses on giving our employees a voice to bring concerns and issues to the table every day, preventing major safety events and time lost. Weekly progress sheets will be distributed to our team so every one of our members is familiar with them, and incentives will be given for participation. We are confident that the beginning of our safety program will be a catalyst for team members to be conscious of their actions and the environment around them. Safety is everybody's responsibility, and there is always room for improvement. To start the new year, plus carryover from 2023, we have already accumulated over half of our year's projected numbers. About one-fourth of that tonnage will be done in phases. This season, another large portion of our work will be the Lowell High School parking lot along with the middle school's tennis court. We also have smaller odds-and-ends jobs on various county roads and North Judson schools. We launched the new season with our annual Chili Cook-off, which began on a fun note in April. Pictured below is our first-place winner, Paige, and Cole right behind in second place. As we all venture further into the paving season, we wish all crews and plants a safe and successful 2024 year! Community Outreach - Area Spotlight Gary, IN - House Demolition In February our Gary team and multiple contractors came together to knock down and clear 38 homes in the Aetna neighborhood. Jim Wiseman, the pioneer of this effort, worked closely with Mayor Eddie Melton, the city redevelopment team, and local contractors to demolish homes that have been vacant for decades. Jim's childhood home was also among those torn down. "I did grow up on these streets. Gary is and will always be the heart and soul of Northwest Indiana. Let's fix the issues and make it a better place for all the children. I fight fiercely for the city I love with all my heart. I beam with pride when someone asks me where I'm from because I can't wait to say Gary Indiana," Wiseman stated. This was a momentous day for the Gary community. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful to everyone who donated their time and resources. Statement from the City of Gary: The Melton administration plans to establish various neighborhood stabilization projects across the city, with a focus on areas that have high concentrations of blight. The Redevelopment Commission is piloting this approach in the Aetna neighborhood. By focusing efforts in one neighborhood at a time, the City of Gary can demonstrate a significant impact in one area, and begin the process of revitalization and reinvestment. Rieth-Riley Construction, Hasse Construction, C. Lee Construction, Actin INC, R & D Construction, Dyer Construction, Superior Construction, and the Lake County Highway Department have all generously donated their time, expertise and equipment to this effort. 21
