Message Special Opportunities for Giving Trinity Presbyterian Church 725 South High Street Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801 540-434-9556 trinitypresbyterianharrisonburg.org office@trinitypresbyterianharrisonburg.org What Is God Saying to Trinity Presbyterian Church? ,,, that the church exists for the world and not for itself; … therefore, its own buildings and programs are to be used for the actual life, service, and witness to the world of God’s grace and love. Frequently there are times when individuals or families desire to make a special gift to support Trinity’s witness to God’s grace and love. Recognizing this, Trinity has established the following special fund opportunities: Loaves and Fishes Fund Memorial Garden Care Fund Music Scholarship Fund Parish Nurse Scholarship Fund Skip Whitmore Scholarship Fund Mission Endowment Fund ~~~~~~~ Loaves and Fishes Fund Remembering how Jesus used the small lunch of one young boy to feed 5,000 people who unexpectedly needed to be fed (Matthew 14:14-21), the Session has established this fund in memory of James W. Gilkeson, Sr. This is an open-ended fund primarily supported by individual donations. Funds are used as needed as a means of meeting requests for unexpected and unbudgeted benevolent causes, such as individual needs for help in illness, financial crises, health, safety, food, lodging, or assistance in forms of ministry other than those of Trinity’s House Church and Marks Group missions. Requests for these funds are reviewed by the Pastor and approved by the Finance Team or the Session. Memorial Garden Care Fund The Memorial Garden is a memorial to members and friends of Trinity who have died. It provides a resting place for the ashes of members and friends who so desire. it is available for outdoor worship, weddings, and other suitable worship, educational, or fellowship activities. A Memorial Garden Care Fund for perpetual care of the Garden area has been established by the Session. It is administered as are other Trinity
