Can’t getenough of K movies by visionary directors likeBong Joon Ho or Park Chan Wook? If all of thissounds right up your alley, then I invite y’all toa one-of-kind study abroad trip to South Koreawhere we will explore Korean cinema, cultureand music.Our journey will begin in Seoul as we explorehistorical and cultural destinations such asBukchon Hanok Village, GyeongbokgungPalace as well as hip new districts such asHongdae and Chungmurro. We’ll also travel tothe Demilitarized Zone, separating North andSouth Korea, and learn about the historybetween the two countries and how it hasbeen extensively shown in Korean shows.Next, we will visit Busan which is knownglobally for its well-renowned BusanInternational Film Festival. We will visit sitessuch as the BIFF Square, Busan Cinema Centerand Korean Film Council. While in Seoul, you will immerse yourself inSeoul’s film scene by visiting film studios,participating in filmmaking workshops, andengaging with experts on South Koreancinema at local universities. Visiting South Korea is an invitation to leavethe familiarity of American life and immerseyourself in a culture that has transformedglobal media, lifestyles and fashion. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to understand thebeauty and richness of Korean culture as wellas witness the Hallyu, the South Korean wave.Whether you love Korean movies, drama orKorean food, this trip is sure to leave youtransformed.
