CHERRY CREEK STATE PARKOffering over 3,000 acres of prairie, wetland, and a 880- acre reservoir, this State Park has it all: swim beach, trails for hiking and horseback riding, shing, outdoor shooting range, and more!DENVER TECH CENTERArea full of many shops and restaurants including Shanahan’s Steakhouse, Il Fornaio, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato.Unincorporated Arapahoe & Douglas County called ‘Englewood’A source of confusion are the unincorporated areas of Arapahoe and Douglas that have Englewood mailing addresses. These areas surrounded by Greenwood Village, Centennial, Parker, and Lone Tree, are not part of any of the cities, so by default, the Post Office assigns the mailing address to Englewood. The largest of these areas is just east of I-25 between Belleview and Arapahoe Road in the DTC area. Homes in this area are valued by their close proximity to the Light Rail stations along I-25 and major employers in DTC, and because they are in the attendance area of Cherry Creek High School, one of the highest rated public high schools in Colorado. This area also adjoins the western side of the Cherry Creek State Park and Reservoir, which is a popular place for boating, running, and viewing wildlife. Subdivisions in this area are Cherry Creek Vista, Orchard Gate, Arapahoe Lakes, and the Hills at Cherry Creek and others.Inverness, Meridian and areas near Dove Valley are also called Englewood by the Post Office. These areas have police protection by the county Sheriff’s Department and other services provided by the county, and lower taxes than the adjacent cities. They are not in the City of Englewood, but have an Englewood mailing address, and are considered very desirable neighborhoods. 15
16ActivitiesWhat are your favorite things to do?Matthews/Winters Park“One of my favorite Front Range trail runs is the Matthews Winters Trail in Jefferson County, located just off of I-70 and Hwy 6, north of Red Rocks. I run south into Red Rocks Park, take the road down to Hwy 6, cross the Hwy to the ‘dinosaur ridge’, which is actually the Dakota Ridge Trail. I take that north back up near I-70 and down back to my car in the Matthews Winters parking lot. This is a wonderful 8-mile loop. There are many trails in the Red Rocks area and this is just one option but it certainly makes for a gorgeous backdrop to run.”– Brad Colburn, Broker AssociateFossil Trace“I love playing Fossil Trace Golf Course in Golden, CO. This course can be challenging, but even for me, an average golfer, I can make birdies and pars! Very well maintained and groomed – It has a country club feel at an affordable price. GPS golf carts with playing tips help tremendously! The course has beautiful views – fossils can be seen next to the 12th green. Elk, deer, wild turkey, foxes can be seen as you play through. Afterwards, we always eat at the Three Tomatoes Restaurant, which is delicious!”– Celia Chavez, Transaction ManagerSki Mountains“Colorado is of course known for its legendary ski resorts such as Vail and Breckenridge, but with so many to choose from, we encourage you to visit a few others. Whether you’re visiting for a summer day-hike or winter ski season, each mountain offers breathtaking views that you will be sure to enjoy and fall in love with. Our Managing Broker, Jennifer Schell Young, says, “you can’t beat a day at Vail, but also check out Eldora Mountain, Loveland, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone.”Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater“From music concerts to hiking trails and Yoga on the Rocks, Red Rocks is home to a variety of events. At 6,450 feet above sea level, catching a concert at Red Rocks is a must-do bucket list item in Denver. Fun fact: Red Rocks Amphitheater was once listed among the Seven Wonders of the World. It is also the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world.”
