Students report increased sense ofbelonging and desire to attend school, andless overcommitment. Rates of anxiety and depression havedecreased, while awareness of the risksassociated with substance use has grown. Our ResultsOur model was developed in collaboration with experts in evaluationand public health and through consultation with our school partners.A Soundboards Assessment is the foundation from which schoolscan develop sustainable prevention strategies. Soundboards are small-group interviews with students and othercommunity members such as parents, faculty and staff, and coaches.Through this process, we gain valuable insight into existingstrengths and supports, challenges, student needs, and substanceuse concerns.
