Thisyear has been defined by our steadfast commitment to driving positive change and creating a lasting impact in our community.Through deepened engagement and purposeful collaborations, we’ve been able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those weserve. At the heart of our mission is our dedication to helping underserved communities. We have continued to play a pivotal role inproviding access to affordable childcare programming, ensuring that families receive the support they need to thrive. Additionally, wehave provided housing to over 60 low-income residents. These efforts underscore our commitment to creating opportunities for all.We significantly bolstered our contributions towards food security. By expanding our food distribution program, we addressed theimmediate needs of our community, ensuring access to fresh, nutritious food for those who need it most. This initiative has not onlyalleviated hunger but also strengthened the bonds within our community. We continued to offer affordable swim lessons, and through our partnership with DCR, provided lifeguard certifications, paving the wayfor aspiring lifeguards to excel in their careers. These programs have empowered individuals and contributed to a safer, healthiercommunity.Looking ahead, it is essential that we continue to collaborate with our community partners to collectively invest in the professional andemotional development of our teens. Together, we can empower young minds with the skills and confidence needed to shape theirfutures, ensuring a brighter tomorrow for our entire community. To our dedicated supporters, I express my sincere appreciation. Your unwavering support has been the cornerstone of our progress.Your confidence in our mission drives us forward and motivates us to achieve even greater success. As we stand on the threshold of the future, we do so with limitless enthusiasm and determination to continue making a meaningfulimpact on the lives of those we touch. With heartfelt gratitude,Vladimir BenoitPresident and CEO03OUR MISSIONThe Somerville Y is committed tobuilding a community where allpeople, especially the young, areencouraged to develop theirfullest potential in spirit, mind, and body.ABOUT USThe Somerville Y reaches over 5,000 people and 2,500youths through a variety ofsocial, cultural, and athletic programsdesigned to help participants growpersonally, understand others, andappreciate the world’s diversity.
