  • Born into a wealthy family and an only child
  • As a child, he lived in Springwood
  • He had a very good education up until the age of 14
  • He had a tough time with the other kids when he attended Gordon School for boys
  • Earned a degree in only 3 years of going to school at Harvard University
  • Married on March 17, 1905
  • After Harvard University and marriage, FDR went to Columbia University Law School and passed the bar exam in 1907
  • In 1910, he ran for New York State Senate
  • Throughout the next few years, FDR helped other candidates
