JULY 2023 EDITION SMART REBATES 1 Requiring metering of electricity dispensed for all forklift trucks starting Q4 2023 2 Adopting an estimation methodology that greatly reduced the amount of electricity that can be reported and respective credits generated The net effect of the new estimation methodology is an almost an 7080 reduction in the electricity that can be reported using the new estimation methodology SCT energy managers and or one of SCT partners will be corresponding with all of our Oregon SmartRebates participants to coordinate site audits to assess the best metering options for their forklift truck fleets SCT has developed various IoT metering technologies to help our SmartRebates participants to continue to comply with the various low carbon programs in CA OR WA and Canada Stay Tuned Washington Department of Ecology Announced Changes to Forklift Truck Electricity Reporting for Clean Fuel Standard Program The Washington Department of Ecology announced updates to the Clean Fuel Standard Program WCFS as it pertains to Forklift truck reporting starting Q1 2023 Under the new guidelines forklift trucks can use the estimation methodology for Q1 2023 only Starting with Q2 2023 the use of estimation methodology will be very limited and all operators of forklift trucks must provide metering data Since installing meters will take some time the WCFS will be allowing the use of estimation methodology for one or two quarters as long as sites can show a plan to deploy and install meters SCT energy managers and or one of SCT partners will be corresponding with all of our Washington SmartRebates participants to coordinate site audits to assess the best metering options for their forklift truck fleets In addition you will be receiving an addendum for a metering plan that we would need to submit to continue reporting until meters are installed SCT has developed various IoT metering technologies to help our SmartRebates participants to continue to comply with the various low carbon programs in CA OR WA and Canada Stay Tuned SCT s Foklift Truck Metering Technologies As almost all states are mandating metering for forklift truck reporting SCT and its partners are very happy to announce that we have developed a number of metering solutions to help our SmartRebates program participants comply with the various program requirements The various metering solutions that SCT is proud to offer include 1 CHARGlink SCT has developed the CHARGlink product platform an innovative cloud based industrial charger monitoring and data logging device CHARGlink automatically tracks and logs actual Amp Hour and kWhr supplied by industrial chargers to charge electric forklift trucks thus providing an audit trail of actual forklift electricity usage at clients manufacturing and distribution facilities For any questions or inquiries please send an email to smartrebates smartchargetech com
