More about Katy Mike
a personal statement
These days, Katy Mike is finding ways to knit arts & ecology issues together. In her role as sustainability coordinator at a local university, she's cultivating wild patience & creativity as a change agent. She's learning first-hand that changing hearts, minds, and behaviors can take time, and that change over time is part of the process of creating a culture of resource conservation and resource-fullness.
After realizing the smallest of details & gestures often make a much larger impact than originally intended, she's hunting for ways to use those actions as multipliers to make the most of limited resources and time. Attention to detail is a habit she believes you nurture when documenting a story or a message, and in her next career move she wants explore that documentation process further through writing & design and within the context of education and outreach.
While seeking to be helpful, supportive, and action-oriented within the professional community, Katy Mike is deepening her own knowledge base and strengthening her own abilities, all the while constantly adapting and learning new skills to do so.
