The log building was built in 1866 and students traveled foot paths from as far away as 12 miles to get to school until a larger school was built in 1881. Eventually, the second school was used as a summer cottage until it was donated to the Town of Liberty Grove. In 1976, the log school house was moved to its present location and restored.
