BONZAI CARUSOCHIEF ENGINEER At Shrine Studios, we are honored to have James “Bonzai” Caruso as our Chief Engineer, an absolutely legendary force in the industry! With eleven nominations and six Grammy wins, Bonzai’s expertise spans recording, mixing, producing, arranging, and songwriting, accumulated over thirty years of collaborating with A list global recording artists. Starting his journey at the Institute of Audio Research in Greenwich Village, NYC, Bonzai is super excited to call Shrine Studios home, enriching our vibrant Las Vegas creative community with his immense talent and experience.
SIMON APEXFOUNDER Hailing from a quintessential British council estate, Simon has traveled across the globe to establish the iconic Shrine Studios. Starting in the early ‘90s UK rave scene, Simon has been a force in the global dance music industry for over three decades. Raised amidst the UK rave culture explosion, his high-energy sets and tracks have ignited dance oors worldwide.Simon was instrumental in introducing the harder styles of EDM to North America, creating his niche genre, “Breaks and Bass,” which attracted major brands and releases with Warner, Sony, Ministry of Sound, Hardcore Heaven REACT, and more.Pushing the boundaries beyond EDM Simon joined as Head of Technical for Avid & Pro Tools’ European distribution channel, becoming a professional audio instructor and video forensics expert for Protools and Logic Pro training diverse clients from government agencies to military special forces.
