You will see this listed on the day to day timings in this program. At this registration you will collect your Shaw and Partners WA Race Week Pack.You only need to attend one of the WA Race Week Registration times to register, however youmust CHECK-IN to the start of each event at the start locations prior to the races - please seedetails below.Do not turn up to the start of any of the WA Race Week events without having registered first. Only check-in will take place at the start locations. RACE CHECK-IN YOU MUST DO THIS AT THE START OF EVERY RACE!At the start locations ‘check-in’ to our timing system via the IPADS.(The only exception is the Race One Paddleboard event, where you will check in at Sorrento) Know your race number (it’s on your GREEN TAG). For The Doctor, check-in will commence on the ferries going over to Rottnest Island and continue on the island. TIMING CHIPWear the timing chip on your ankle. Bring your timing chip with you to each event. No timing chip = no time.If you lose your timing chip there is a $50 replacement fee. Return your timing chip at the end of your last race. For most, this will be at TheDoctor event where we will be collecting them as soon as you cross the line. You will be provided with one timing chip and race number to use for all theevents. This is how we can identify you and collate WA Race Week points. Do not swap or use someone else's timing chip.GREEN TAG - YOUR RACING NUMBER & SAFETY NUMBERAttach the tag to the front of your lifejacket.This has your race number on it ( in most cases this will match your timing chip). Know your race number for race check-in.The tag also includes the Oceanpaddler mobile number, which is the SafetyNumber for all events. YELLOW RACE NUMBER STICKERPlace the sticker on the front left hand side of your craft. This matches your race number.If you are using different craft for events and need additional stickers pleasecome and see us. TRACKING DEVICES(Used for the Fenn West Coast Downwinder and Doctor event only)Attach to the strap of your lifejacket at the TOP front or back.The tracking device will be supplied with a cable tie and is to be attached to theSTRAP of your lifejacket. This can be on the front or back but must be as high aspossible. This ensures that if you fall in the water the device can stay above watermore easily.Do not place it at the back of your lifejacket with your water bladder.Do not place it on your craft, it is intended solely for your personal safety.If you are doing both races we will collect the tracking device after The Doctor. Ifyou are only doing the Fenn West Coast Downwinder please hand this back afterthe race. The tracking will only be activated during the race times. You must use the tracking devices for these two races as it is an integral part ofour safety plans. 2024 PROGRAMSHAW AND PARTNERSWA RACE WEEKWadjemup / Rottnest IslandWe are very grateful to Wadjemup / Rottnest Island for allowing us to start our event from this beautifullocation. Rottnest Island is a protected nature reserve. Please be respectful of the island and its guests. We have worked very hard with Rottnest Island over the last 20 years to make this a successful event and yourhelp is appreciated. Please follow the rules as requested by Rottnest Island:Please do not litterDo not enter the sand dunes - this includes the area around the Army Jetty shelter. All craft must be put on the BEACH, not on the grass. Footwear must be worn at all times when unloading the barge from Main Jetty. Follow the witches’ hats and the direction of staff at all times when unloading the barge. Do not take pool noodles to the island as we must minimise rubbish. If you do, you must have someone tobring them back for you.Getting to Rottnest IslandYou must get your own transport to Rottnest. You must be on Rottnest Island and checked-in by 10am. See details below. There are shops and cafes on the island where you can relax prior to the race.What to take to Rottnest IslandOnly take what you will need for the race, as we have no way of getting your gear back.Take all your mandatory equipment.Remember tools to attach your rudder to ski if it was taken off for the barge trip.Your paddle!Unloading the Barge When you arrive on Rottnest Island you must get your craft off the barge if your craft is on it. The barge willbe at the Main Jetty where the ferries arrive. You are responsible for looking after your own craft.You can install your rudders at the Main Jetty and once instructed paddle over to Army Jetty where the startwill be. Race Check-In & Equipment Check Staff will commence the race check-in process on the ferries going over to Rottnest Island. We will continue race check-in on the grass area near Main Jetty (check map on next page for location).Check-in will not be done at Army Jetty as per previous years. Competitors must check-in by 10am or you will not be allowed to race.Mandatory equipment checks will take place and anyone who does not have the correct equipment will notbe allowed to race. You must not go within 300m of any shipping vessel during the race or you will be disqualified..
