CWL Meeting: The CWL will hold a regular meeting in the parish hall on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:15 pm. We will be seated at least 2 meters apart, and masks will be worn. Anyone who would like to join remotely please contact Rosalie at (306) 690-1061. Bible Study: We are planning to re-start weekly faith studies in early November, providing that COVID 19 cooperates with us. At that time, we will re-offering the Eucharistic study in its entirety, so as to assure some continuity. For those of you who already have the literature, you will be able to use what you already have. If there are any new people who would like to attend, please contact Doreen and she will let us know so we can have sufficient material. As it stands right now, the studies will be held in the main hall, in the church basement, with a limit of thirty people per session, to assure enough room for social distancing. As there will be a morning and evening study, it should allow for all those who are interested to attend. Kindly look for further updates, as we will be following Saskatchewan Health directives for that particular time frame. If you have any questions, please contact Therese Lyons at 306-693-6196. Praying that you are all keeping well and looking forward to seeing all of you. Sacramental Preparation: You can go online and register for Sacramental Prep. by going to our website: www.stjosephmj.com Archbishop Appeal: Kickoff for the Archbishop Appeal is on Saturday, September 19th. Theme is Hope In Every Season. You will be receiving your pledge card in the mail shortly. Fr. Tomy will be leaving us on Monday, September 28, he will be the new pastor of Broadview, Whitewood and Stockholm. We will certainly miss him. We at St. Joseph Parish wish you all the best. Please keep him in your prayers. Fr. Yodel Cereno will be our new Assisting Priest. He will be here on September 28th. Please welcome him. THERE WILL BE NO MASS ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th. Dear Friends and supporters of Moose Jaw Right to Life: This year of COVID has had a devastating effect on the work of Moose Jaw Right To Life. Our normal educational and fund-raising activities including our annual banquet, our yearly garage sale, Sidewalk Days display, our Fall Walk for Life have all been eliminated because of the pandemic and there is no end in sight before we can resume our “normal” routine. Fund raising has also been decimated because of these cuts. Thanks only to the generosity of donors in the past and the continued support of the Catholic Women’s League and the Knights of Columbus do we have enough money in savings to temporarily weather the storm. We will, however, hold our Life Chain along Main Street on Sunday, October 4th. We will meet at Church of God (next to Rexall) parking lot at 1:45. A great opportunity to remind one and all that Life is Precious! On another note altogether we are looking for new leadership, someone with innovative ideas who can carry on the work and mission of Moose Jaw Right to Life. Please encourage anyone who you may think of that could help. We also need a treasurer, which would require only an hour or so a month to enter information into Quick Books. We are always grateful to Amy who, despite the times, has continued to serve mothers and their babies with our clothing and supplies give away. Donations keep on coming in and there is an abundant variety at present. Please refer to Moose Jaw Right to Life facebook for more information. A big thank you to JoAnn for managing Christmas cake sales. We have ordered a few extra cakes so if you haven’t already reserved your cake, please call JoAnn at 306-693-8613. Small cakes (1 lb) are $15 and large cakes (2.5lbs) are $25. Finally, but certainly not least of all, we need financial help to get us through these times. If you can be of assistance you can contribute through Canada Helps by going to our website (moosejaw righttolife.ca) and clicking on the Donate Now square on the left-hand side of the first page which allows you to use a credit card. You can also mail a cheque to Moose Jaw Right to Life at the address at the top of this letterhead. You may also be able to drop a cheque off at your church in our care. Please check with your church office. It is with a great sense of humility for all those who serve and for all those who support us in thought and prayer and financial help that I remain. Yours sincerely Jean Landry President
