Join HERE for free!Independent Travel Training (ITT) is a free programme designed to help children andyoung people aged 11 to 25 travel safely and confidently on their own. It covers roadsafety, using a bus pass, and safely boarding public transport. ITT is part of Bristol’sSchool Travel Support offer.To qualify, the young person must be aged 11 to 25, have an EHCP and identified SEND,and be entitled to travel support to school or college. Those aged 16 to 25 must also bein post-16 education. This course is aimed to empower young people and give them independence.More hereIndependent Travel UpdateHas your child moved schools recently? Find a full list of their free courses by clicking: Following a 35% increase in assessment requests, the council is working to reducedelays and improve support using new strategies and investment.Actions include:£500,000 for Educational Psychology to boost assessments.£1 million to restructure the SEND team and speed up EHCPs.A new £1 million Inclusive Learning Service launching in September.£8.3 million for Elmfield School for Deaf Children.Councillor Christine Townsend reaffirmed her commitment to putting SEND children atthe heart of Bristol’s schools.
