We will begin feeding at 6 p.m. The speaker for this year’s event will be Pastor Bear Johnson from Finley Baptist Church. Door prizes are a big part of having a large crowd. We are asking that each able church please donate a door prize. Please bring your door prizes to the Association office as soon as possible. We ask that each church provide ten pounds of cooked meat of your choice. The meat should be brought to the church in a disposable container no later than 5:30 p.m. Please bring all food to the Oak Grove Baptist Family Life Center on the east side of the sanctuary. Frisco Association also provides and cooks all the vegetables, bread, additional meat, drinks, condiments, and desserts. We want to have plenty of food for our guests and we don’t want them to feel obligated to bring anything. Please be intentional about this ministry and encourage your men to participate and bring their lost friends. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and worship. UPDATE ON DR. TODD FISHER Hello everyone! Today, I had my follow-up with the orthopedic surgeon. Overall, everything looks positive regarding my injuries. One of my ankles still concerns them, but we’re praying for healing. I have a long road of recovery ahead, but getting a bit better everyday. Here’s the best news: after 32 days in hospitals, this pic is me leaving the hospital on my way home!! God has been so good to us in this difficult journey. He has done so much in our lives and taught us in deep ways how to be content in every circumstance. Words fail us in thanking the many who have prayed, sent messages, and shown our family love and concern. We are blessed! In fact, that is the very heart of this offering. The Missions Offering is a very tangible expression of the common bond we have in Christ and the common mission we have to advance the Gospel in our state. Prayerfully set a goal for your church and pray that God would bless the offering to reach every corner of our state in ministering the love of God to the lost and those in need. Week of Prayer for the Edna McMillan State Missions Offering: September 1-8th.
