There is a lot of activity in the month of September October across our churches and association in SE Oklahoma We are looking forward to our Annual WMU meeting and the Brotherhood Wild Game Feed in September Kathy Wren will be speaking at our Annual WMU meeting about her mission trip to Tanzania and Pastor Kyle Cummings will be speaking at our Brotherhood Wild Game Feed Remember that August was Ministry Wives Appreciation month and that October is Pastor Appreciation month Pastor Appreciation month started back some 30 years ago so don t think your pastor will forget about this month and there is no excuse for a church to ignore or forget this small act of kindness Your pastor does a lot behind the scenes and if you look around there are fewer men going into the pastoral ministry each year So do not take your pastor for granted and start planning now on what you will do on that first Sunday in October and you will see how a little kindness and appreciation goes a long way FBA Pastors Please remember that our annual pastor s meeting is being held on September 23rd from 9 30 am to 3 30 pm at Frink Baptist Church in McAlester This will be a conference led by Dr Fisher and Dr Rummage on developing and delivering a sermon Whether you are just starting out or if you have been preaching for decades there will be something at this conference for you Our SE Oklahoma Associations have joined together along with our Oklahoma Baptist Convention to host this event It is free to attend but you must register by September 16th one week prior We need to have an accurate headcount for the meal from Rib Crib and for the book sets on preaching that we will be giving to each participant You can register at https www sbcworkspace com pub event register 55236167 Pastors I hope to see you there for this event I helped put together this event with our other SE Oklahoma Director of Missions and our Regional Ministry Partner so we could have one closer to attend and we are having it on a Saturday to better accommodate our Multi Vocational Pastors and their schedules Dr Mark A Boyd STATE MISSIONS OFFERING Edna McMillan State Offering Goal 1 2 million Oklahoma Baptists have a long history of stepping into areas of brokenness and meeting needs all to advance the Gospel In fact that is the very heart of this offering The Missions Offering is a very tangible expression of the common bond we have in Christ and the common mission we have to advance the Gospel in our state Prayerfully set a goal for your church and pray that God would bless the offering to reach every
