The event, which was jointly hosted by the Medical Staff and Hospital Administration, was held at the historic Mitten Building in Redlands. In addition to delicious food, sparkling beverages, and festive camaraderie, the evening’s entertainment featured The Killer Dueling Pianos, which kept the party on its feet. Thompson, MD,with spouse.Dr. Bistolfi Amaral HonoredThe event was a great opportunity to honor our physicians and staff for their contributions to our hospital. Dr. Valentina C. Bistolfi Amaral was recognized for her commitment to quality patient care as she was awarded both the Physician Champion of Quality Award and the Physician of the Year Award. This is the first year that a physician won both awards, which speaks to her peers’ respect for the care she provides. Dr. Amaral has been a member of the SBMC Medical Staff since July 2020 and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. She obtained her medical degree at Universidad Federal Do Parana in Brazil, and received her training at St. Agnes Healthcare and the Cleveland Clinic. She’s cared for patients in the emergency room, critical care, and is currently the Medical Director of the Intensivist Program at SBMC.
