Since itsinception, nearly 300 members have registered.

This is the inaugural Rotary Volunteer Service Award, with over 40candidates nominated from various Rotary and Rotaract clubs. Afterinitial screening by 13 assistant district governors and deputy assistantdistrict governors, 19 candidates successfully advanced to the secondround of interviews. Ultimately, a panel of 6 judges selected 10 Rotariansand 3 Rotaractors as award recipients. The awards cerem ony will b e held at the 65th District Conference ofRotary International District 3450. Congratulations to all the winners,and heartfelt thanks to all the candidates; your selfless dedicationdeserves our respect and recognition. Finally, on behalf of the Rotary Volunteer Award Committee, I would liketo express my sincere gratitude to all the judges, the Rotary VolunteerAward Committee members, and the nominated clubs and members fortheir efforts. GOLD AWARD WINNER : PP Joseph Kwan Architect, Accessibility Consultant,Environmental Psychologist, Pioneer, Advocate,Educator, Author, Mentor and Social Architect. Joseph has dedicated the past 30 years servingpeople with disability and the elderly throughadvocating, teaching and implementing inclusive,safe and equitable built environment and accessibletransportation. He achieved these by participating in Governmentand local NGO Committees; and in professionalassociations such as, HKIA, ARBHK, ARCASIA,Rehabilitation International, International Union ofArchitects, and as Expert to ADB and UN-ESCAPhumanitarian programmes. He also participated as a volunteer to AVS and toEMAS Medical/Dental Team in providing essentialhealth-care services to poor and marginalisedcommunities in southern China. SILVER AWARD WINNER: BRONZE AWARD WINNER: Gary Lau, a proud member of the Rotary Club of TheHUB HK, has served children and young adults for 19years. His focus is on understanding beneficiaries' needsand making a difference. In 2023, he launched theannual project "Everyone Is Beautiful," empoweringminorities in the community.PP Andrew Jones I began my journey with KELY Support Group in 1991 asPresident of the Rotary Club of Kowloon, addressingyouth substance abuse. After 34 years of service, I amnow Emeritus Chairman. In 2013, I aided TyphoonHaiyan relief in Cebu, raising over $30,000 andmentoring students in hospitality and tourism. PP Alexis Suen I have been with Rotary for over 30 years,leading numerous local and internationalservice projects. I founded “Voice of Love,”organizing events for 400-500 elderly.Additionally, I engage in commercial activitiesthrough trade associations to promoteinitiatives and seek support from the HKGovernment and relevant bodies. Grounded in “Give > Receive”and “Life impacts life,” Expanding tailoredsupport for vulnerable groups. PP Eddy Lo The volunteer journey of Eddy has lasted forover 4 decades. Eddy began the journey inschool, then volunteered as occupationaltherapist in rehabilitation service of Mainland.Later Eddy joined the Rotary Club of SoHoHong Kong focusing on improving lives in thecommunity and supporting youth engagementinitiatives. PP Andrew Wong Chao Hing CP Patrick Au Yeung Patrick Au Yeung, a visionary leader and socialadvocate, has initiated impactful projects in inclusion,elderly care, and leadership development, showcasinghow small actions create profound meaning incommunities and individuals' lives. R V A 2 0 2 4 - 2 5 P a g e 1 0 PP Andrew Wong , with 50 years of front-line voluntarywork experience, has initiated numerous Rotary serviceprojects in fostering youth development, engaging in diversecommunity initiatives and down-to-earth programmes tosatisfy the genuine needs of the deprived. My service journey began at 12 as a Red Cross member,evolving into leadership roles in Rotary and charities. Serving diverse marginalized groups - mygreatest reward is creating tangible change and turning“Service above Self” ethos into action. William Shum is the founder of Memorigin Tourbillonand co-founder of Qianfan Technology. He is pastpresident of Kowloon Tong Rotary Club who activelypromotes youth and community services. GOLD AWARD (ROTARACT) WINNER : EVP Michael Chan Sheung Yee Michael Chan founded Companion HK atthe peak of the pandemic in 2020 to helppeople with psychological ailments. Companion HK has provided training,helping people with mental disordersreintegrate into society. He aims to campaign against mental healthstigma and encourage acceptance of emotionsand public discussions of mental health. As a brain cancer survivor, Michael would liketo promote everyone has the ability to changethe society. He is awarded Forbes 30 under30 in 2023.
