Meet the 2018 Boys Lacrosse Coaches and TEAM Manager Head Coach MARK TOWNSEND Assistant Coach Nick Kretzmer Mark joined the RHAM Lacrosse program in 2016 he is a seasoned High School Lacrosse coach with over 7 years developing and motivating athletes Coach Townsend brings extensive Lacrosse knowledge to the program taking pride in inspiring his players to be the best they can be both on and off the field In the short time he has been with RHAM he has significantly increased the team s discipline dedication and skill level and has developed a strong Lacrosse Family demeanor with the team His extraordinary communication skills with both players and parents has resulted in a highly energized supportive community with true TEAM SPIRIT that he refers to as RHAM Nation Nick joined the RHAM Lacrosse program this 2018 season Having coached Glastonbury High School from 2012 2014 Nick brings a great level of expertise and experience to the RHAM Lacrosse program A graduate of UConn Coach Kretzmer has played with and against players that have gone on to Division I II and III colleges Coach Kretzmer is enthusiastic about the RHAM program and wants other teams to view RHAM Lacrosse as a team that is fundamentally sound plays hard smart fast and gives 110 ALL the time Coach Kretzmer is determined to bring this program to the next level under the leadership of Coach Townsend JV and Assistant Coach Steven Schortman Team Manager Christian Edwards Steven joined the RHAM Lacrosse program in 2016 and is instrumental in conditioning the athletes preseason including cardio and strength training During the Lacrosse season Coach Schortman focuses on coaching and preparing the JV team by developing the skills and competencies that will take them to the next level A Graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University Coach Schortman was a High School All Conference Football player as well as a Wrestling and Varsity Lacrosse athlete Coach Schortman played NCAA football at Norwich University and Rugby at Eastern Connecticut University Undeniably a seasoned athlete Coach Schortman also served in the Army National Guard from 2007 2010 Love the ENERGY this program has Christian is a Freshman at RHAM High School and has volunteered to be a Team Manager The team Managers generally become the Coaches Right Hand person Christian s responsibilities will include managing the readiness of the team with equipment and water during games and practices and occasionally filming games for training purposes I feel like this can be a very successful group of kids and would be proud to manage a successful team RHAM LAX 18 7

RHAM Girls Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach Matthew Senecha Matt recently joined RHAM Lacrosse in 2017 as the Girl s JV Lacrosse Coach and is excited to move into Head Coaching position this season for the RHAM Girl s Varsity team Coach Senecha has coached various High School sport teams over the past eight years including Tennis Basketball and Lacrosse at Woodstock Academy As part of the coaching team in 2017 the RHAM Girl s Lacrosse team qualied for the State Tournament With several returning Varsity players and fresh young talent joining the team this year Coach Senecha is very optimistic that the RHAM Girl s Lacrosse team will return to the State Championships this season Assistant Coach Lauren Hentschel Lauren graduated from RHAM in the class of 2017 and was a captain for the girl s Lacrosse team She is now commuting to Avery Point and saw the perfect opportunity to coach this year s team Lauren loves the game and is thrilled to remain a part of the RHAM Lacrosse family she hopes to help make the team strong and bring them to State Championships this year Assistant Coach Tracy Loskant Tracy has been coaching girl s lacross for 11 years four of which have been with the RHAM High School lacrosse program She feels very fortunate to be a part of this dynamic group of girls Tracy believes that the RHAM Girl s Lacrosse team qualifying for the State Championship last year is a testament to the dedication of the players and proof that this program is moving in the right direction 21
