1 I HAVE COMPILED VARIOUS RESOURCES
2 I have collected and pasted various articles below from my recent reading. They are shared in point form with URL addresses in order to keep the document short. They are obviously from different sources. I found reading and watching them both quite shocking as well as informative. I also share them on twitter, facebook, Instagram and Linkedin but still think that I could do more sharing – so I am trying this experiment by using SimpleBooklet. Any feedback would be appreciated! I do get quite shocked reading all the various articles and reports, for instance, simply reading the sentence below. “This is likely the last warning the Nobel Peace Prize-winning collection of scientists will be able to make about the 1.5 mark because their next set of reports will likely come after Earth has either breached the mark or locked into exceeding it soon, several scientists, including report authors, told The Associated Press.”

6 A visitor jumps over high tide water at the Washington, DC Tidal Basin amid cherry blossoms in peak bloom on March 25, 2023. According to NOAA, climate change and rising sea levels are expected to threaten the root systems of cherry trees near the Tidal Basin. Peak bloom in the Tidal Basin arrived on March 23, which makes 2023 one of only nine years over the last century in which peak bloom occurred so early. 7 • Analysis: This report asks: what is at stake? In short, everything • By any standards, these are stark and brutal findings. António Guterres, the UN secretary general, said: “I have seen many scientific reports in my time, but nothing like this. Today’s IPCC report is an atlas of human suffering, and a damning indictment of failed climate leadership.” 35. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/feb/28/what-at-stake-climate-crisis-report-everything 36 As spring temperatures rise, so do flood risks. It is a framework for responding to the terrifying realization of increasing disruption by committing ourselves to reducing suffering while saving more of society and the natural world. This is the first book to show how professionals across different sectors are beginning to incorporate the acceptance of likely or unfolding societal breakdown into their work and lives. They do not assume that our current economic, social and political systems can be made resilient in the face of climate change but, instead, they demonstrate the caring and creative ways that people are responding to the most difficult realization with which humanity may ever have to come to terms. Edited by the originator of the concept of deep adaptation, Jem Bendell, and a leading climate activist and strategist, Rupert Read, this book is the essential introduction to the concept, practice and emerging global movement of Deep Adaptation to climate chaos.
