Adding Chapter Books
When I first came up with the idea of Reading Pathway Collections I was really interested
in displays that included both picture books and chapter books.
But, then I decided I wanted to:
a) Keep the core collections as small as possible to make it an affordable idea for
everyone.
b) That I didn’t want to distract from everyone enjoying picture books. These
have so much to offer children of all ages.
c) Many schools would already have chapter books they could link in with the displays.
I am most happy to make recommendations of chapter book stories that would link in
with the Reading Pathway mini themes. For children in year 3 especially it would be
great if themed displays included both picture books and chapter books.
