About us MRM Design Studio is a small architectural practice based just outside Exeter Devon With over 30 years cumulative experience delivering construction projects from initial concept development through to delivery onsite we pride ourselves on being client focused We enjoy working closely with our clients to offer a design focused approach working on new builds extensions and alterations We have considerable experience working in a number of sectors including residential commercial education and conservation Our team have worked on projects of all scales from modest extensions through to large multi million pound developments we aim to deliver a consistently high level of service to all our clients
Proving layouts and sketch schemes MRM have experience providing initial stage proving layouts for a wide variety of schemes from small individual projects through to large residential developments for national house builders We take great pride in working with our clients to develop their brief and deliver a thorough sketch scheme to allow them to envisage their future project As a practice we believe the use of 3D imagery is essential to our clients understanding their future project

Planning applications
MRM have great experience in successfully guiding our clients through the planning consent process This includes entering into early stage conversations with planning authorities using pre application documentation through to full planning and listed building applications Working with our clients external consultants and local authorities our collaborative approach has proven to be successful in the planning process We can support our applications with a comprehensive range of drawings and documentation that is suited to each individual project as required
interiors As part of the design process of agreeing a scheme with the clients we often produce internal imagery to enable our clients to visualise the spaces we have created In addition to the above we have the ability to create 3D walk throughs or panoramic images
Building regulations Following the planning process the next statutory requirement before construction can commence is to obtain building regulations approval We can compile a full and comprehensive set of building regulation information for submission to the local authority We liaise with external consultants including structural engineers SAP assessors and mechanical engineers to provide fully coordinated supporting documentation as required
detailing and construction Post buildings regulations we are able to offer our clients support throughout the tender and construction phase We would produce detailed drawings of all aspects of the design from joinery window and door schedules to detailed specifications Regular on site inspections can be carried out to ensure the building works are in accordance with the drawings and specification
Project completion MRM have a variety of completed projects including barn conversions new builds and domestic extensions We take great pride in supporting our clients with their projects right through to completion We have been nominated and won a number of awards for our completed projects
