In the bustling city of Medina, where the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) lived with his wives, there was a question that arose amongthem. The noble wives of the Prophet (PBUH) gathered together andasked him a question filled with curiosity and wonder: "O Prophet ofAllah, who among us will be the first to join you in the Hereafter?" The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with his gentle demeanor, repliedto their inquiry with wisdom and insight. He said, "The one among youwho has the longest hands will be the first to follow me." Upon hearing this, the wives were puzzled. They began to measuretheir hands with a stick, eager to unravel the mystery behind theProphet's words. As they measured, it was discovered that Sauda(RA) had the longest hands among them. However, as time went by, they were surprised when Zainab (RA)passed away first. They were wondering why the one with the longesthand did not go first. But as days turned into months and years, they came tounderstand the deeper meaning behind the Prophet's words. Theyrealized that the "long hand" was not about physical length at all. Itwas a symbol of something much more beautiful – practicing charityand kindness.THE LONGEST HANDS30

Page 35

Zainab (RA) had a heart full of generosity and love for helpingothers. She used to love practicing charity, spreading happinesswherever she went. And so, she became the first among the Prophet'swives to join him in the Hereafter, even though her hand wasn'tphysically the longest. As for Sauda (RA), she continued to live a life of kindness andgenerosity, spreading love and compassion to all she met. And whenher time came, she departed from this world, leaving behind a legacyof charity and goodness. And so, the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) learned that truegreatness lies not in physical attributes, but in the goodness of one'sheart and the kindness of one's deeds. And they vowed to continuepracticing charity and spreading love, following the beautiful exampleset by their beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This story has a wonderful lesson for us. True greatness ismeasured not by physical attributes, but by the goodness of one'sheart and the kindness of one's deeds. Charity and love are the mostvaluable legacies one can leave behind.31

In a small village nestled between rolling hills, there lived ayoung boy named Zayd. Zayd was a very kind and compassionateboy. His family, like many others in the village, held tight to theteachings of Islam. One evening, as the sun painted the sky with shades oforange and pink, Zayd sat with his grandmother, listening totales of wisdom from the Quran. His grandmother, a gentlewoman with a twinkle in her eye, spoke about the special placemothers hold in Islam. "Zayd," she said, "did you know that Islam teaches us tolove and respect our mothers three times more than anyoneelse?"Zayd's eyes widened with curiosity. "Three times more,Grandma? But why?" His grandmother smiled and began to tell him about it, “InIslam, your mother comes to you three times before yourfather. This means, dear Zayd, that the love and care of yourmother are so special that it is emphasized threefold." Zayd listened intently as his grandmother continued. STORY TIMETHE THREE CALLS OF LOVE43

Page 48

"The first time your mother comes to you is when shecarries you in her womb. Allah has blessed her with the strengthand patience to nurture and protect you even before you see theworld. This is the first call of love." "The second time is when you come into this world. Yourmother experiences great pain and sacrifice to bring you intoexistence. Her love for you begins even before you open youreyes. This is the second call of love." "The third time is when you, my dear, say 'Mama' for thefirst time. Every time you call her, you are expressing your loveand need for her. This is the third call of love." Zayd's heart swelled with understanding and affection. From that day forward, he made sure to express his love for hismother not once, but three times – just like the teachings ofIslam. As Zayd grew older, he carried this wisdom with him. Heshared it with his friends and family, spreading the message oflove and respect for mothers three times before anyone else, reminding everyone of the profound teachings that guided theirlives.44
