The STORY Every number has a name Devynn DeMuesy Devynn and her family have been attending OCC for many years Devynn is the youngest of three girls Her parents volunteer in Children s Ministry which has been an added blessing to the girls because they have been able to help them really understand more about the lessons Devynn attends faithfully and is always looking for ways she can better understand each lesson and God s Plan Every Sunday we use God s Plan to present the gospel to our students There are five key points in understanding God s Plan and with each key point there is a Bible verse We have challenged our students to try to memorize the verses for each point This is to help them tell others about Jesus because they won t always have a Bible with them All of our students know John 3 16 but Devynn is the only student who knows all five verses that go along with God s Plan When asked why we memorize verses she said we have to keep them in our hearts so that we can tell others about how much God loves them Not only does Devynn want to memorize Bible verses and asks lots of questions to better understand God she is always looking out for mission opportunities and ways to give A couple of months ago when we did the Baby Bottle Campaign Devynn took home four empty baby bottles and brought them back filled with coins Every Sunday in that month she would bring me her filled bottle and by the end of that Sunday she would show me a new empty bottle Devynn loved collecting money but also telling others about why she was collecting money She knew exactly what she was giving money to and why The children at OCC are exceeding all expectations They go above and beyond to love God and to love others Devynn is just one story of many from Children s Ministry As a church let s pray that Devynn and other children never lose their innocent love for Jesus because it is a beautiful thing Written by Miranda Mook 59 The number of families that Okolona Christian Church has served through the Food Pantry
