About The ArtistAs an Artist, I have been active in the community for over20 years, from after-school art programs to summer artand drama. Being an Artist of the Black Diaspora, I useintense colors and compelling interpretations to help createa different conversation regarding "abstract expression" inAfrican American Art. My work explores colors, motion,social commentary, and influences from my experiences asa Black woman. I am the co-founder and president of theAzubuike African American Council for the Arts. We arelocated at the new TMBC Lincoln Community Center inDavenport, Iowa.If chosen, as a narrative quilter, my intention is to craft astory quilt woven from the captivating tales that trulyinspire me.
