Parent Representative - ʻUo MamoKa Lei ʻUo Mamo serves as a bridge of communication between the teacher, student and ʻohana. If you have any questions, comments or concernsregarding your keiki, your keikiʻs class or our school, please begin by contacting your ʻUo Mamo representatives. (nawahi.org)Further information can be found in Kukui ʻĀ Mau in the child,ʻohana section - pages 13 - 19. ʻUo Mamo is a parent chosen by the Kahu and Kumu Alakaʻi to serve in this capacity. (insert above) A returning parent has a better understandingof the program and the site, so they are usually the best choice. The ʻUo Mamo parent is capable of answering questions should they arise, andable to help parents if they have an idea they would like to bring to the staff, whether itʻs regarding an activity with keiki and ʻohana, a fundraiser ora concern. An ʻUo Mamo parent is chosen as they have a peer relationship with the other parents and parents may feel more comfortableapproaching another parent as their first line of communication. The ʻUo Mamo parent also provides some relief to the staff as they may be able toanswer more simple questions other mākau may have. Below are a few examples of how the ʻUo Mamo may assist:Communicating and organizing mākua to support kumu, kula, and communicate back to kumu.Provide input ideas and kōkua to plan Lā ʻOhanaEncourage parent participation at hālāwai and hui kīpaepae Kōkua i nā kumu e hoʻokaʻaʻike a hoʻomanaʻo e pili ana i ka hana o kēlā me kēia papa (Communication w/mākua)Hoʻolālā i nā mea a pono ai no nā huakaʻi (Puʻukoholā, apwa) (Helping kumu organize parent participation in events and activities)Answer and resolve parent questions; listen to parent suggestions and determine whether relevant to bring to Kahu and Kumu AlakaʻiʻUo Mamo Makua:
