READING CHALLENGES
Winter Reading Challenge
January 1-March 31
Book lovers of all ages can participate in our Winter Reading Challenge.
Sign up and log your progress at greenfieldlibrary.beanstack.org. Read
for two hours (or pre-readers have 10 books read to them) to earn an
entry into our prize drawing.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Develop your child's early literacy skills, teach them to love books, and
prepare them for school by participating in 1,000 Books Before
Kindergarten. Visit the Children’s Desk or www.greenfieldlibrary.org/kids-
and-families/1000-books-before-kindergarten/ to register your child. All
children who complete the program will earn a free book.
Greeneld Public Library Winter & Spring 2021 Programs
Most programs will be held virtually through Zoom meetings or on

You do not need a Facebook account to view the programs.
Recordings will be on Facebook for at least one week for you to view

Lap Sit Story Time
Tuesdays, 10:30-11:00 AM
January 5-May 4
Join us on Facebook Live (www.facebook.com/greenfieldpubliclibrary) for a
half hour of stories, rhymes, and silly songs. It’s the best way for any child
to start the day! Recommended for ages 6 months-3 years, but ALL ages
are welcome!
Toddler Time Story Time
Wednesdays, 10:30-11:00 AM
January 6-April 28 (no program March 3)
Join Ms. Christine for stories, music, and movement! This program will be
presented on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/
greenfieldpubliclibrary). Once a month we will release a story time kit
available for pickup at the Children’s Desk. Each kit will have materials that
we’ll use in that month’s weekly story times. Registration is required and
will open up one week before the day of the program. Register on our

Dress in your pajamas, grab your favorite blanket and stuffed animal,

Rhythm & Rhyme Time
Mondays, 10:30-11:00 AM
January 4-May 3
Join us for 30 minutes of songs and rhymes to encourage singing,
dancing, and playing. Nursery rhymes have never been so fun! This

Kid Crafts to Go
First Wednesday of the Month

Once a month we will release the materials for two new crafts available
for pickup at the Children's Desk. Instructions will be posted on our
Facebook page (www.facebook.com/greenfieldpubliclibrary) on
Wednesdays at 1:30 PM, but the videos will stay up so you can get
crafting when you’re ready. Registration is required. You can register
through the link on the Facebook event or through our website

Kids ages 8-13 are invited to our series on STEAM—which stands for
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Twice a month we will
release STEAM kits available for pickup at the Children's Desk.
Instructional videos will be posted on our Facebook page
(www.facebook.com/greenfieldpubliclibrary) on Wednesdays at 2:30, but
videos will stay up so you can do the experiment at your convenience.
Registration is required and will open up one week in advance of the

Lego Club
First Thursday of the Month, 6:00-7:00 PM
January 7, February 4, March 4, April 8
Come join the club for Master Builders! This program will take place on
Zoom. We’ll post a Lego challenge and Zoom link on our Facebook
page (www.facebook.com/greenfieldpubliclibrary), then join Ms.
Christine on Zoom to make and share your creations with other Lego
builders.
Peeps-O-Rama – Virtual Edition
March 15-30
Build a diorama using peeps candy and a shoe box depicting a scene
from your favorite book. Submit a photo of your diorama to Miss Gloria
at gloriam@greenfieldwi.us between March 15-21. Please include your
name, age category, and title of your diorama with your picture. Pictures
of the dioramas will be posted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/
greenfieldpubliclibrary). Vote online for your favorite in each category
between March 22-28. Winners will be announced on March 30.

With summer approaching, what better way to have fun than playing
games in our beautiful Children’s Garden! We will have a bunch of games
and activities set up for you and your family to enjoy the great outdoors.
Ring in the newer, warmer season with some fun and frolicking! No rain
date planned.

Adult Crafts to Go
Fourth Thursday of the Month
Register to get supplies for a craft to do at home. Instructions will be
posted on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/
greenfieldpubliclibrary) Thursdays at 6:00 PM, but videos will stay on
Facebook so you can make the craft whenever it works for you. Limited
quantities available. Registration is required. Please register through

Registration will open one week before the kit pickup date and will close
when registration is full. Adult Craft Kits will be available for pickup on
the dates listed below.
January 28: Card MakingIt’s a great time to send someone a card!
Learn 4 new card making techniques.
February 25: Macramé Earrings – Get all the supplies and
instructions to make a pair of macramé feather earrings.
March 25: Tote Bag Printing – Create your own geometric-inspired
stamp and use it to design a tote bag.
April 22: Watercolor with Markers – Learn how to make a watercolor
effect using only Crayola markers.

Have some virtual fun as Greenfield Library offers you chances to play
games with members of the community on our Library’s Facebook page

Fourth Monday of the Month (Bimonthly), 6:30 PM

and gain recipes with people in your community? Then come to the
brand new Cook Club. Prepare a dish and share it virtually with your
peers. Was it great? Let us know. Was it lousy? More fun to talk

February 11: Cut the Cable – Thinking about getting rid of cable? We’ll
go over some different options and costs for streaming TV shows.
March 11: All About Apps – Do you feel like you could be doing more
with your smartphone or tablet? We’ll talk about some useful apps and
some fun ones that you might not know about.
April 8: Photo Management – If you have pictures on your phone that
you’re worried about losing or you’re running out of space, this class can
show you how to organize your photos and back them up to the cloud.
May 6: Protecting Your Privacy and Security Online We’ll talk
about how to protect yourself on the internet, including secure
passwords, keeping your information private, and how to tell if a website
is safe.
Bad Art Contest
Ever hear of fine art? We don’t want any of that! Are you creative?
Have you always wanted to compete in an art competition but cannot
draw a straight line to save your life? Perfect! Join us for a contest of fun
and absurdity as you let your terrible, yet amazing inner artist out to run
wild without shame! Create the worst art you can from materials at
home. Then, bring it in to GPL and display your creation in our gallery
for a chance to win the lauded “Certificate of Art Atrociousness” and a
prize...or at least an honorable mention! Submissions will be accepted
April 19-30 and displayed in early May for community voting and
