RAINN is the rape abuse incest national network. It is the nations largest anti- sexual violence organization. RAINN has created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline. They partnered with many sexual abuse services. They help and provide programs that prevent sexual violence and ensure that the offenders get what they deserve.  RAINN is also to let sexual assault victims know that they are not alone. It lets them know that what happened to them was not there fault.  


RAINN was founded almost 25 years ago by Tori Amos. 

RAINN is trying to help all the sexual assault victims. They want them to know that they are never alone and that they are always there to help. 


  1.  Every 98 seconds an American is sexually assaulted.
  2.  Every 8 minutes a child is the victim. 
  3. Only 6 out of 1000 offenders will end up in jail
  4. Sexual violence has fallen more than half since 1993
  5. The majority of the assaults happen near to home and usually by someone you know

Laws passed due to the organization RAINN:

  1. The House of Representatives passed the Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Reporting(SAFER)law that eliminate the backlog of untested DNA from unsolved rape cases to take countless rapist off of the streets. In February 28, 2013.
  2. Countless Senator and Representatives have supported the RAINN organization. 

Important date of RAINN:
  1. The National Sexual Assault month is officially in April. President Obama made it official in 2009.
  2. They have the Ready, Set , Run which is a 5k run to support the survivors of sexual assault.
