However, Columbine’s heart belongs to the playful and clever Harlequin. Determined to keep them apart, Cassandro locks Columbine away and entrusts the key to her chamber to his servant, Pierrot. But in a mischievous twist, Pierrot’s companion, Pierrette, seizes an opportunity and steals the key, allowing Columbine and Harlequin to reunite in a joyous dance of love.Their happiness is short-lived, as Cassandro’s loyal servants intervene and cruelly hurl Harlequin to the ground, leaving him seemingly lifeless. Just as all hope seems lost, the Good Fairy arrives, accompanied by a legion of Harlequins, and miraculously revives him with her magic. When Cassandro returns and witnesses the ensuing chaos, he calls for a Notary to immediately arrange Columbine’s marriage to Alessandro.Desperate and unwilling to lose his beloved, Harlequin pleads for the Good Fairy’s help. With a swirl of magic and trickery, the stubborn Cassandro and Alessandro are whisked away, leaving the bewildered Notary to mistakenly wed Columbine and Harlequin instead.
