ARTS BALLET THEATRE AT THE SANCTUARY OF THE ARTSUNA DANZA PARA TÍSouth Florida Premiere by Arts Ballet Theatre of FloridaUnder license by The Nebrada FoundationChoreography: Vicente NebradaMusic: Teresa Carreño, Ramón Delgado Palacios, and J. M. Suárez Costumes by: Wendy Guo based on the originals by Christina GanniniThis neoclassical ballet, originally choreographed by Vicente Nebrada, showcases a seamless blend of five dance couples set to the waltzes of renowned Venezuelan composers Teresa Carreño, Ramón Delgado Palacios, and J. M. Suárez. These composers are emblematic of Venezuela's rich pianistic tradition, and their works provide the perfect foundation for Nebrada’s choreography, which marries classical ballet technique with the lyrical and expressive qualities of neoclassical style.Nebrada’s unique approach integrates dynamic movement, fluid transitions, and precise musicality, highlighting the beauty and elegance of the dancers as they inter-pret the music. His choreography emphasizes both the virtuosity and emotional depth of the performers, creating a vivid and captivating experience for the audience. This production, staged by current Arts Ballet’s Ballet Mistress Mary Carmen Catoya, a former principal dancer with Vicente Nebrada at the Ballet Nacional de Caracas, carries on the legacy of Nebrada’s distinct style. Both, Vladimir Issaev’s, who worked with Nebrada for a decade, and Catoya's intimate knowledge of Nebrada's vision brings authenticity and precision to the performance, ensuring that his neoclassical interpretation resonates with new audiences while honoring its roots in Venezuelan cultural heritage.Red: Saaya Okada and José Luis PechenéLilac: Kirsty Walker and Matthew BryceOrange: Kanon Tanaka and Ataru MatsuyaBrown: Louise Rigby and Yoichi HabaguchiYellow: Kazusa Murayoshi and Seiga Sato
