5El Festival Internacional de Cine de Almagro les da la másentusiasta de las bienvenidas a su Edición número: V“LO POSIBLE ESTÁ MUY VISTO”En todas las culturas antiguas el número 5 se presentasimbólicamente como “la gran prueba”; el momento en elque el humano decide, a pesar de lo difícil que parezca lameta, continuar dirigiéndose sin descanso y traspasar loslímites de “lo posible” en la realidad de cada individuo. Siatendemos a Pitágoras, los números son los símbolos de lotrascendente, es decir, que su dimensión es cualitativa (nocuantitativa), y son herramientas con las que crear. ParaPitágoras el “5” simbolizaba a ese humano preparado parasuperarse.El Arte es otra de esas herramientas de las que dispone elhumano para hacerlo consciente de ese más allá hacia elque dirigirse. Más allá de sus fuerzas; más allá de lo que creesaber; de lo que cree tener; de lo que cree que debe… paraﬁnalmente Crear, desde un lugar diferente al común, unaobra maestra. ¿Maestra por qué?, precisamente porque es elreﬂejo del artista que lo crea y contiene la información de uncamino diferente de crear realidad… Realidad propia… Su vida.Por eso, inspirados en “el camino del Héroe”, (estructurametódica que se usa en la realización de guionescinematográficos del mitólogo Joseph Campbell) y rescatandola esencia de lo que simboliza el número 5, hemos disfrutadorealizando el cartel de la V Edición del AIFF, que habla de “esecamino“ en nosotros; como declaración de principios paraseguir dirigiéndonos, “atravesando el umbral”.

If we pay attention to Pythagoras, the numbers are the symbols of the transcendent, that is to say that their dimension is qualitative (not quantitative), and they are tools with which to create. 7Nuestro héroe ya ha conseguido algún logro, ha recibidohonores, pero sabe que no ha llegado a la meta que dodesear alcanzar cuando emprendió el camino. Todo eso era“lo posible”. Ahora, más allá del escalón, continúa el camino,por eso da el paso. El cine, la lámpara de su proyector, la luzque emana, será su guía en adelante. Lleva consigo todo loaprendido de las diferentes culturas y cantando le da formaa lo que quiere que se materialice: ¿Qué sería una ﬁesta sinmúsica?, ¿Qué sería una película sin música?, ¿Qué sería denuestro festival sin música?, ¿Qué sería de nuestras vidassin Arte? Habrá momentos de duda, especialmente antes dedar el paso; siempre hay una serpiente, que con su lenguabíﬁda trata de convencernos de que no lo hagamos, de quenadie lo valorará, de que está bien como está, de que no tienesentido…., A ella la llevaremos con nosotros, porque esa fuerzala usaremos también para probarnos constantemente quétanto permitimos que esas disyuntivas y cruces de caminopueden con nosotros…. La guacamaya nos contará lashistorias que recoja de todos los lugares y rincones del mundo,mismas que mostraremos como hemos hecho hasta ahora,y de aquí en adelante… A través del tiempo, el cual ya nuncamás será un problema, porque a través del cine viviremos enel tiempo que decidamos. Este equipo lo conforma gente inconformista, innovadora, inquieta y repleta de energía, ganas e ilusión. Todo este coctel hace del AIFF el lugar idóneo para demostrar el talento de los jóvenes y cumplir su meta: Convertir Almagro y el Festival en un lugar de referencia internacional para el arte cinematográﬁco.The Almagro International Film Festival team is made up of more than 40 young people between the ages of 18 and 35 and, as our slogan this year says, for them “The possible is very seen”. Además, es fundador de otros festivales de cortometrajes en el mundo, como China y Korea, y profesor de cine de la universidad de Guangzhou. Así mismo, dirigió y escribió varias películas.He is, since its inception in 1982, the director of Interfilm Berlin, one of the biggest short film festivals in the world and qualifier for the Oscars. 15MARKO MONTANAJosé Miguel Calzado Espinosa nació en Almagro, Ciudad Real. En 2016 se trasladó a Berlín para crear Entropy Collective. Desde entonces ha realizado diversas producciones audiovisuales como director bajo el nombre de ‘Marko Montana’, por las que ha recibido varias distinciones, entre ellas ganador en dos ocasiones del Berlin Music Video Awards Actualmente desarrolla la actividad de su empresa Entropy Collective en Castilla-La Mancha, con sede en Bolaños de Cva.José Miguel Calzado Espinosa was born in Almagro, Ciudad Real. In 2016 he moved to Berlin to create Entropy Collective. Since then he has made various audiovisual productions as a director under the name ‘Marko Montana’, for which he has received several distinctions, including two-time winner of the Berlin Music Video Awards. Currently he carries out the activity of his company Entropy Collective in Castilla-La Mancha, based in Bolaños de Cva.

He was Director of Latin american Short Film Festival of Caracas. Former President of Venezuelan national ﬁlm board. In two occasions elected Executive Secretary of Ibero-american cinematography.

17CELIA VELAActriz, asistente de dirección e investigadora artística de origen manchego con más de 15 años de trayectoria profesional en méxico. Como actriz cuenta con más de 500 representaciones teatrales, así como participado en numerosas producciones cinematográﬁcas, televisivas y publicitarias. Como asistente del director artístico Raúl Farell en México, ha formado parte de producciones y montajes escénicos en colaboración con el Instituto Nacional De Bellas Artes (INBA), la Coordinación Nacional De Literatura y Teatro entre otros.Actress, assistant director and artistic researcher of La Mancha origin with more than 15 years of professional experience in Mexico. As an actress, she has performed more than 500 theatrical performances, as well as participated in numerous ﬁlm, television and advertising productions. 19IRENA JELIĆ Croatian Audiovisual Centre (Instituto de cine de Croacia)Irena Jelić nació en Zagreb, Croacia. Licenciada en Historia del Arte y Lengua Española, construyó su carrera en agencias de marketing como redactora y directora creativa. Ha diseñado e implementado más de 100 campañas de relaciones públicas para películas croatas y extranjeras. Desde 2017, Irena trabaja para el Centro Audiovisual de Croacia (HAVC). Jefa de Departamento de Promoción y Festivales de HAVC y representante de Croacia en la Promoción Cinematográﬁca Europea.Irena Jelić was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia. With degrees in History of Art and Spanish language, she built her career in marketing agencies as a copywriter and creative director. She has designed and implemented more than 100 PR campaigns for Croatian and foreign ﬁlms and CineStar TV channels. From 2017, Irena works for the Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC). She is the head of the Promotion and Festivals Department at HAVC and Croatian representative in the European Film Promotion.

Ha trabajado junto a Álex de la Iglesia en las películas “Musarañas”(2013) y “El Bar”(2016), dirigiendo los ‘making of’ y fotografía ﬁja . En 2017 crea Ibicine (Ibiza), el primer festival de cine de la isla que premia por categorías el cortometraje. Un festival que crece año tras año y recibe el Premio por la UNESCO como único representante de España en las rutas de turismo cinematográﬁco Movie Travel. La 5ª edición del Festival de Ibiza fue presentada en el Festival de Cannes junto a su madrina Paz Vega. Specialized in Direction of Photography, production for Film and TV, editing, and script. 22CARMEN SUMMERS Licenciada en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Tras una larga trayectoria en cine y televisión, actualmente dirige el área de Producción Ajena en Castilla-La Mancha Media. Ha trabajado más de 10 años en Antena 3 TV y en 13TV, entre otras. Ha comprado, creado y desarrollado formatos de programas de televisión emitidos en varias cadenas nacionales y autonómicas.Degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid. After a long career in ﬁlm and television, he currently directs the External Production area at Castilla-La Mancha Media. He has worked for more than 10 years at Antena 3 TV and at 13TV, among others. 23ÁNGEL BRIZ HERNÁNDEZ Como periodista de vocación y carrera, es Licenciado en Ciencias de la Información por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Como cinéﬁlo de vocación y devoción, es director del FCIM (Festival de Cine Inédito de Mérida), una propuesta única en Extremadura, que permite disfrutar en una cuidada Sección Oﬁcial de películas de indiscutible calidad, en versión original, aún no estrenadas en España. As a journalist by vocation and career, he has a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. As a cinephile by vocation and devotion, he is the director of the FCIM (Merida Unpublished Film Festival), a unique proposal in Extremadura, which allows one to enjoy in a careful Ocial Section ﬁlms of indisputable quality, in original version, not yet released in Spain.

En 2013, junto a Jordi Brau y Óscar Barberán, fundó los estudios "Polford" en Barcelona, donde doblan y mezclan películas y series. El Director de la película, Juanra Fernández y el resto de componentes se juntaron para grabar un par de temas que se incluyeron en la película. La actriz Sheila Ponce, cantante, protagonizó el ﬁlm junto a Juan Diego Botto (Escuadrón suicida) y Jan Cornet (La piel que habito). La película recibió varios premios, entre ellos en el Festival de Cine de Nueva York o en certámenes en Colombia, Argentina o India, y también fue galardonada por dichas canciones en el Rock Horror in Rio de Brasil, festival en el que Das Model actuó en streaming por la pandemia.The DAS MODEL group emerged during the ﬁlming of the feature ﬁlm 'Rocambola'. 31 V EDICIÓN MANCHA QUALITYEl Festival internacional de cine de Almagro, a través de la iniciativa “MANCHA QUALITY” creada en 2018, realiza esta convocatoria abierta para profesionales, destinada a la cohesión y desarrollo de la industria audiovisual de Castilla-La Mancha a través de herramientas para la formación, profesionalización, la promoción del audiovisual y profesionales regionales. Ésta iniciativa, creada durante estos 5 años (5 ediciones) a través de un programa de formación y networking, está destinada a profesionales del sector audiovisual de Castilla-la mancha, dando un espacio para el intercambio de conocimiento y experiencia, con objeto de servir al fomento, cohesión y desarrollo de la industria audiovisual regional, y de la mejora en la gestión de iniciativas de creación y difusión de contenido audiovisual de la comunidad autónoma, dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras, para poder igualar las acciones de otras regiones y prestar la atención que se merece el desarrollo interno de este sector. Buscamos un equilibrio entre la importación de proyectos y la creación propia, a través de un tejido regional que propicie una industria organizada y competitiva.Como parte de este día dedicado a los profesionales del sector en Castilla-La Mancha. 40IVANA BOŠNJAK Y THOMAS JOHNSON VOLDAThey are a couple specialised in stop motion animation techniques. They are currently living and working together in Zagreb. To date they have co-directed two stop-animation short ﬁlms, Simulacra (2010) and Imbued Life (2019). Both ﬁlms have been screened at many international festivals, and have received several acclaimed awards. They have also worked as animators and model makers on numerous commissioned animated works and other short stop-motion artistic ﬁlms across Europe.Son una pareja especializada en técnicas de animación stop motion. Actualmente viven y trabajan juntos en Zagreb (Croacia). Han codirigido dos cortometrajes stop motion, SIMULACRA (2010) e IMBUED LIFE (2019). Ambas películas se han proyectado en muchos festivales internacionales y han recibido varios prestigiosos premios. También han trabajado como animadores y creadores de cortometrajes artisticos en stop-motion por toda Europa.
