GOLDWIND ADVANCES WORLD’S LARGEST WIND-POWEREDGREEN METHANOL PROJECT IN INNER MONGOLIA G o l d w i n d G r e e n E n e r g y C h e m i c a l s ( G E C ) h e l p s d e l i v e r a c a r b o n - f r e et o t a l s o l u t i o n t o t h e e n e r g y a n d c h e m i c a l i n d u s t r i e s .The long-term deal supports Maersk’s first 12large dual-fuel vessels and stands as theshipping industry's first major green methanolprocurement.The fuel will be produced using wind power andbiomass at Goldwind’s 1,800-acre facility inXing’an League, China. Once operational, it willserve as a hub for green hydrogen-basedmethanol and ammonia synthesis in eastern InnerMongolia.This partnership is key to Maersk’s goal ofreaching net-zero emissions by 2040, withGoldwind set to provide more than half thegreen methanol needed for its new fleet—accelerating decarbonization in global maritimetransport.To learn more about how Goldwind’s cleanenergy solutions can support the production ofgreen hydrogen in North America, contact us atmarketing@goldwindamericas.com.One year after breaking ground, Goldwind’s500,000-ton wind-powered green methanolproject in Xing’an League, Inner Mongolia, isemerging as the world’s largest initiative of itskind. The project marks a major milestone in theglobal shift toward green shipping, as greenmethanol gains traction as a low-emissionalternative fuel and hydrogen carrier.Demand for green methanol is rising sharply. Asof January 2024, Det Norske Veritas (DNV)reported 23 new methanol-fueled ship orders,surpassing LNG vessel orders. COSCO Shippingforecasts the industry’s demand could reach 100million tons annually by 2030—far beyond currentglobal capacity.In response, Goldwind is scaling up productionthrough strategic partnerships and offering moreturbine options for a range of applications tohelp reach sustainable production of hydrogen-based fuels and chemicals. In November 2023,the company signed a landmark agreement withA.P. Moller-Maersk to supply 500,000 tons ofgreen methanol per year starting in 2026.
GOLDWIND WIND TURBINE LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT (LCA) & EPD Following the conclusion of the evaluation byIVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute(“IVL”), Goldwind issued an EnvironmentalProduct Declaration (EPD) through EPDItalywhich was validated by ICMQ. To date,Goldwind is the first and only wind turbinemanufacturer in China to release an EPD. EPDevaluations will be conducted on Goldwind’sfuture onshore turbines.Goldwind has obtained the EPD certificationsfor 4S, 5S, and 7H wind turbines and willcontinue to apply for the certifications fornew products. As a leading manufacturer of wind turbines,Goldwind takes its role in reducing carbonemissions very seriously. To underpin this role, theCompany evaluated the environmental impactwind turbine manufacturing, transportation, installation, and operation can have on the planetthroughout its lifecycle. EPD is a declaration document on theenvironmental impact of a product or systemthroughout its life cycle, including the energy andresource consumption and CO2 emissions at allstages of the life cycle. For a wind turbine, its life cycle includes theproduction of its parts/raw materials, productionand assembly of the wind turbine, transportationand site installation of its large components, operation and maintenance for 20 years andabove, and dismantling, recycling and reuse atthe end of service life.

EFARM LiDAR Assisted Control TechnologyGoldwind’s nacelle-mounted LiDAR and wind measurement technology captures dynamicwind flow before reaching the turbine. Information captured is then fed into the turbine'sreal-time control system for use in advanced control algorithms that optimizes the turbine'sperformance, reduces load on the machine, and improves generation capacity. The LiDAR isa standard configuration on Goldwind 4-megawatt and above wind turbines.POWERNEST™ POWERNEST™ is a wind farm-wide software upgrade that compliments the GoldwindEFARM LiDAR system. The value-add product provides a series of advanced project levelcontrol technologies, including intelligent yaw wind rectification to reduce wake, resulting inan increase in production on a per unit basis. POWERNEST also supports noise reductionmodeling, environmental impact modifications, real-time load detection, predictive serviceestimates, and sector management. This is an add-on product to turbines featuring theEFARM LiDAR product.Smart Operations System—SOAM™SOAM™ is Goldwind’s monitoring system for its service operations fleet. The program, inconjunction with Goldwind SCADA, leverages software and network technologies, automatic monitoring and remote-control systems, communication protocols, andspecialized wind power data analytics to establish a secure, high-performing monitoringsolution for wind projects. SOAM™ is a standard software feature with Goldwind SCADAmonitoring packages.DIGITALSOLUTIONS© G O L D W I N D Data-driven solutions to maximize thevalue of your clean energy assets.
Behind every turbineis a team of talentedindividuals working tochange how the worldlooks at andconsumes energy. Through a strategic network of regional hub service operations, Goldwind'stalented service and operations teams bring best-in-class customerservice, troubleshooting, and maintenance to your wind farm. In an industry that is growing and changing, one thing remains the same -the caliber of our staff. AdvantagesA gearless approach to outstandingperformance. Permanent Magnet Direct-Drive (PMDD)technology requires fewer components withonly one moving part in the drivetrain, reducing maintenance costs over the lifetimeof the turbine. The end result is less downtime, meaning an overall increase in turbineavailability and increased energy production.GOLDWINDPERMANENT MAGNET DIRECT DRIVE PMDDAvoid rotor winding losses and mechanical energy losses associated withgearboxes and couplings. Full power converter provides the flexibility to optimize rotor rotationalspeed for maximum mechanical energy transformation.Compliance with demanding grid requirements as a result of full powerconversion.Eliminates the need for rotor winds, slip windings, slip rings, brushes, andtheir associated maintenance.

New OnshoreMSPM Smart WindTurbine PlatformInherits the Core Competitiveness ofGoldwind Smart Wind Turbines
AdvantagesA new era of premium performance. Featuring a permanent magnet synchronousgenerator and a full-scale power converter, theMSPM platform inherits nearly 91% of the samesupply chain as Goldwind's PMDD generators. The latest MSPM wind turbine series offerscustomers more opportunities to build projectsin complex wind regimes without compromisingon long-term performance. GOLDWIND MEDIUM SPEED PERMANENT MAGNET MSPMLarge rotor diameter and rated power, combined with permanent magnetgenerator and medium speed planetary gearbox, improves overall powergeneration. Permanent magnet synchronous generator and full-scale power converterprovides quick dispatch response, more active power/frequency, reactivepower/voltage control, and smoother fault voltage ride through. Reduced maintenance as a result of elimination of high-speed couplingsand slip ring carbon brushes. Fault rate can be reduced by approx. 70%compared to double-fed turbines.
