WelcomeI wish to welcome everyone to our Prize Giving Ceremony – our pupils and former pupils, parents and carers, teachers, support sta, Governors, sponsors and our special guest, Mrs Joan McCombe.Tonight’s ceremony is the public celebration and acknowledgement of the success of our pupils and of the work of all those who helped them, especially teachers and parents. We are proud of all our A’ Level and GCSE students. 2022-23 was a very successful year in terms of academic performance. A high percentage of last year’s Year 14 students were awarded Further and Higher Education places and we are especially pleased so many of them are here tonight to receive their awards. Our Year 12 pupils also achieved the excellent GCSE results, with 96% achieving at least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C.Behind the headline results there is a great range and depth of achievement, inside and beyond the classroom, much of which this booklet records. I would like to pay tribute to the commitment and professionalism of my sta who aorded our students outstanding opportunities to help them ‘grow’ and become the exemplary young people we are here tonight to applaud.Tonight’s event is therefore a celebration for all who are associated with our School. I hope that you will enjoy the formal and informal aspects of the evening but most importantly thank you for being here to celebrate the pupils’ successes.PRINCIPAL21st September 20233
