I want to welcome you to the Presidio Theatre for our 2025–2026 season. My tenure with the Presidio Theatre began in August 2024 and I am thrilled you can come on this journey with me as we discover and experience artists and organizations from the Bay Area and around the world. Tucked away in the middle of the beautiful Presidio National Park, this state-of-the-art theatre was brought to life through the vision and generosity of Presidio Theatre founder Peggy Haas. This season, we will honor the Theatre’s founding by bringing back audience favorites and we will look to the future by presenting new artists and cutting-edge organizations. From September to May, we will present over 90 shows that are inuenced by our 4 pillars of programming – Art, Dance, Theater, and Music. Our philosophy is to engage with our community, allow artists to showcase their talents, and utilize our stages and spaces to give them the opportunity to explore their singular visions. We have launched a new Resident Artistic Companies program. For the next two seasons, the Presidio Theatre welcomes ve Resident Artistic Companies (RESCO’s) to present exclusive programming at the Theatre that will enable these organizations to grow artistically and institutionally, develop audiences, and collaborate on key projects while maintaining their respective missions and identities. The rst class of RESCO’s are San Francisco Arts Education Project, Chamber Music San Francisco, Children’s Theatre Association of San Francisco, New Century Chamber Orchestra, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans. Founded in 1961, the beloved Preservation Hall is a global institution and the Jazz Band has helped to dene the musical traditions of the Crescent City for more than six decades. Preservation Hall Jazz Band presents the Big Easy’s musical heritage and the wealth of New Orleans’ musical talent.Children’s Theater Association of San FranciscoThe Children’s Theatre Association of San Francisco was established in 1934 as an all volunteer, non-prot women’s organization dedicated to providing live musical theatre for school children in the San Francisco Bay Area, particularly for those who might not otherwise experience it. In 2026, they will present Once Upon a Mattress, Youth Edition with performances on January 24, 25, 31, February 1, 7, 28.Chamber Music San FranciscoChamber Music San Francisco is dedicated to the presentation of chamber music concerts and recitals of the highest possible quality. Beyond the presentation of excellent concerts, we seek to build new audiences for chamber music, which we believe embodies the most direct and accessible communication from composer to listener. Performances include Stella Chen-Matt Lipman-Brannon Cho Trio on March 8, Myriad Trio on March 28, Nathan Meltzer on April 19, and Escher Quartet with Brandon Patrick George on May 17. New Century Chamber Orchestra One of only a handful of conductorless chamber ensembles in the world, New Century Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1992 and includes 19 string players from the San Francisco Bay Area as well as throughout the United States. Musical decisions are made collaboratively, resulting in an enhanced level of commitment from the musicians and concerts of remarkable precision, passion, and power. Performances on March 14 and April 25.The San Francisco Arts Education Project Players The San Francisco Arts Education Project was founded in 1968 and for fty-plus years has stayed true to its mission of enriching the lives of children by facilitating hands-on participation in the visual and performing arts—taught by practicing artists. The SFArtsED Players, a troupe of 45 performers ages 9 to 14, will present their annual spring musical for audiences of all ages. Past shows on the Presidio Theatre stage have included Annie, Newsies, The Little Mermaid and Shrek the Musical. Performances from May 1 – 3.

He received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards for his star turn in Kiss Me, Kate. He also gave Tony-nominated performances in Man of La Mancha, August Wilson’s King Hedley II, and Ragtime. Other notable Broadway shows include Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jelly’s Last Jam, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and Shue Along. Summers will play guitar, including The Police classics, and share stories and photos he’s taken over the years. This multimedia show gives fans a great insight into his work and a moment with a legend. As a member of The Police, Summers won ve Grammy Awards and in 2003 was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, along with Sting and Stewart Copeland. America’s original jazz dance company continues to redene and expand the very denition of jazz dance and is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Giordano Technique emphasizing a deep plié, rhythmic complexity, and an elegant style with kinetic urgency. This iconic organization will present an evening of quintessentially American music including the premiere of Gershwin in B – A Tribute to the Music of George Gershwin by the Emmy Award-winning and “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Al Blackstone.Edward Simon Trio with Chris Potter & Del Sol QuartetSaturday | January 10 | 7:30pm$49 – $82For this exclusive Presidio Theatre performance, Venezuelan pianist and composer Edward Simon will present his inventive trio of bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Adam Cruz augmented by the Del Sol Quartet and special guest saxophonist Chris Potter. The group will perform Simon’s latest work Latin Heart that blends the rhythmic vitality and melodic richness of Latin American music with jazz. The program will include two pieces originally composed for the SFJAZZ Collective in 2024 that were inspired by a triptych of paintings by Rupy C. Tut from the de Young Museum’s collection. Based in the Bay Area and a longtime member of the SFJAZZ Collective, Simon is a Guggenheim Fellow and a current faculty member of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Chris Potter is one of the most inuential saxophonists of his generation and a longtime member of the SFJAZZ Collective.
Peter Pan: Panto In The Presidio Previews $16 – $33Regular $16 –$66(Price range includes youth)Panto In The Presidio, a beloved San Francisco holiday tradition, is back for its 2025 season with almost two dozen performances from November 29 to December 28. This lively, fun-lled twist on the classic family tale transports audiences from San Francisco to the enchanting world of Neverland, featuring iconic characters like Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, and the Lost Boys. Fans will also recognize favorites like Pecker the singing rooster and the hilariously eccentric Dame who leads the action. Now in its fth year, Panto In The Presidio has become a holiday staple in San Francisco, oering a unique spin on the British tradition of pantomimes. Overseen by Executive Producer Peggy Haas, Panto combines slapstick humor, outrageous characters and parodies of current events and people. Described as having “a voice that could melt snow” by her late mentor Prince, Springs has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments, from national TV appearances, headlining major jazz festivals, and collaborations with such luminaries as Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, David Sanborn and more.Tatiana Eva-MarieFriday | February 13 | 7:30pm$49 – $82Nicknamed the ‘Gypsy-jazz Warbler’ by The New York Times, Tatiana Eva-Marie is a transatlantic bandleader, singer, author, and actress. She plays music derived from the Django tradition with Gypsy and French jazz inuences. Accruing over 80 million views on YouTube, Eva-Marie was acclaimed as “a millennial shaking up the jazz scene” by Vanity Fair. Though her interests have led her to explore a wide range of musical styles, her music is always inspired by her own French and Balkan heritage; a love for the Parisian art scene era spanning the 1920s to the 60s; a passion for traditional Gypsy songs; a fascination for New Orleans music; and a deep connection to the Great American Songbook.Paula WestSunday | February 15 | 2:00pm$49 – $93The Bay Area’s jazz treasured vocalist Paula West will help celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend with a matinee performance featuring her trademark interpretations of songs from the Great American Songbook and beyond. She is known for her rich, smooth sound and knowing way with lyrics. As the San Francisco Chronicle once noted, “West makes heartache sound so good.” West is a mainstay on the Bay Area scene and appears regularly in New York to sold-out audiences at Lincoln Center and the Oak Room at the Carlyle Hotel.

Though their name means Give/Take in the old language, DakhaBrakha is new Ukraine, both pre-colonial and post-Soviet, working within a global network of art and music. They aim to help audiences see Ukraine not as a monolith, but as a cosmopolitan culture that takes in other cultures and gives in return. In addition to their own performances, DakhaBrakha also performs their original live soundtrack alongside a screening of the classic 1930 lm “Earth” by Aleksandr Dovzhenko that is considered to be one of the most important lms of the Soviet era. Dovzhenko is a master of composition, and the lm—with its intense close-ups and the impressive expanses of the landscape—is a passionate tribute to the countryside, to nature, and to the people that work on it.

It was Paul Simon’s 1987 Graceland album that introduced Ladysmith Black Mambazo to the world. The late former South African President Nelson Mandela designated the group “South Africa’s cultural ambassadors to the world,” a title the members carry with them with the highest honor. Antonio Sánchez Plays BirdmanFriday | March 13 | 7:30pm$44 – $93Four-time GRAMMY-Award winner Antonio Sánchez, one of the most renowned drummers in the international jazz scene, takes the Presidio Theatre stage to recreate his original solo drum score to Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 2014 Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), the Academy Award Winner for Best Picture starring Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts. During a screening of the lm, Sánchez will recreate his score, but as Sánchez improvised most of the original music for the lm, each performance is unique — a showcase of his musical creativity.

His music combines the rich and diverse musical traditions of West Africa creating a new pan-Malian approach that reects his open-minded interest in all types of music. The predominant style played by Koité is based on the danssa, a popular rhythm from his native city of Keyes. He calls his version “danssa doso,” a Bambara term he coined that combines the name of the popular rhythm with the word for hunter’s music (doso), one of Mali’s most powerful and ancient musical traditions.
