2024 EXPO IPAT Museum Convenon Installing new ocers is a crucial procedure in operaons, holding signicant meaning for both the newly elected ocers and the members. Anna Skonieczny led the Installaon Ceremony . We invite you to contact Anna Skonieczny at skonieczny@mindspring.com or your area representative if you are willing to teach a lesson or demonstration using zoom and/or submit an article featuring your art for this magazine or IPAT Newsletter. IPAT has added a weekend apprentice who attends a local college and is an art major. The apprenticeship is funded by a grant from the Texas Association on the Arts. This allows IPAT to now welcome the many weekend visitors attending the city of Grapevine’s special events and festivals. Our association with the Chamber of Commerce and Grapevine’s many artist associations has created much more visitor interest on the weekend. Our parking lot and rear entrances have a new gate. We are adding new signs on our building facing that parking lot to entice visitor participation and tours. Our apprentice is also scanning all printed back issues of our Porcelain Artist Magazine for our archives. This will be most valuable in our virtual history library. Best wishes for 2025 and keep painting!!! President’s Message Welcome 2025!! Happy New Year to all China painters around the world. We wish all of you welcome to the IPAT 2025-2026 season. We are all looking forward to working together in an inspiring and positive way to make IPAT bigger and stronger. We encourage old and new members to join us for inspiration, friendship and to build bridges around the world. Let us work together for a good connection, share notes, techniques, and to learn from and inspire each other. In this way we will find China painting creative and exciting. Please share your love for art with your neighbors, friends and even gatherings you attend. It can be an ice breaker when having small talk when you meet new people. Promote your artistic work and your achievements and goals. Invite them to visit your studio for a cup of coffee and cake (The Scandinavian way ). By sharing your art form and dedication you will promote yourself and IPAT where one can go for resources and start learning this wonderful art form. We would love to hear your success stories. Experience the joy of painting on porcelain with IPAT, where creativity flourishes and friendships blossom across the globe! 2024 IPAT Online Convenon Compeon “Jimmy” “Hortensia” Teri Koenig Maryland, USA Free to Roam By Anna Marie Skonieczny, Alabama USA Supply list: Use three values of green, such as eve green, grass green and black green for the leaves of the palm trees. Tree trunks are rich brown and black. Cornower blue to shadow the cows. Black ink for pen work. Red resist. Brushes: Square shader number 8 or 10 Lusters: orange, yellow, purple, light blue, dark blue and other blues, black, brown, mother of pearl. All rings at .017. First re: Pen in cows and palm trees with black. Second Fire: Paint the sun with orange luster. The palm trees are done by triple-loading your brush. Start with the lightest green (side load), connue to load with middle value green working the paint next to the lightest green on your brush. Lastly load the brush with your darkest green. You now have three colors on your brush. Do a stroke on the palm leaf starng from the middle of the leaf to the edge. Angle your stroke to slant towards the end of the leaf. Clean your brush and load again. Repeat this process unl you have complet-ed all the leaves. Make one brush stroke for each load of the brush. For the leaves that do not show a middle, just start from the top and angle to-wards the end of the leaf. On the trunk of the palm tree, paint rich brown in a rough texture. Load your brush with black, hold the bristles straight up and down on the boom of the palm tree trunk, push your bristles up about ¾ of an inch on the trunk. Li your brush and do it again, loading your brush as needed, moving up the total length of the trunk (a small area at a me). You should be making texture on the palm tree trunk. There should be a ridge on the top of each stroke. Third re: Use the view from an apartment in Costa Rica for background. Resist outside the mountains and island. Flow horizontal black, purple, brown and orange luster on the mountains and island. Paint orange luster on the sand area. 

Flow horizontal black, purple, brown and orange luster on the mountains and island. Paint orange luster on the sand area. Fourth re: Important - wipe turpenne over the areas that are painted with luster so the red resist does not sck. Resist palm trees, cows, mountains and islands, plus the inner edge of the sand. Place the lighter color lusters and orange in the area where you have painted the sun. Make sure you have the lusters on both sides of the mountains ow horizontally. Place your darker blue lusters on the edges and ow horizontally. Let the lusters dry. Remove red resist. Using a Q-p, pounce brown luster over the orange luster sand, making a texture on the orange sand. 
