CURRENT SITUATIONIn the last 5 years, Park has made significant institutional progress. All leading institutional indicators have increased including enrollment, applications, annual giving and net tuition. Its summer camp profit has increased over 4,000%. Other indicators have healthfully decreased including the school’s debt and student and faculty attrition. Park’s graduates in 2025 were admitted to 90 different universities and were awarded over $6,000,000 in merit scholarships. By all measures, Park is thriving and well-positioned to continue to deliver on its mission for generations to come. THEATER & ART GALLERYENDOWMENTCURRENT SITUATIONThe Park School of Buffalo’s philosophy of education is unique to Western New York in that the performing, visual and media arts play a key role in the lives of its students. Typically, more than 60% of Park’s Grade 3-12 students participate in at least one play or musical throughout the school year. In recent years, an exceptional amount of students have auditioned for plays and musicals, forcing the school to either limit participation or create two casts. The annual Park Spring Arts Show, an interdisciplinary festival that includes visual and performing arts and integrated academic projects, involves nearly the entire student body. Park graduates routinely are accepted into the best art colleges in the country. Students also now engage in media arts, creating podcasts and videos as part of their senior projects. In addition, Park has entered into strategic partnerships with local and state-wide arts organizations such as the Roycroft Campus and the New York State Thespian Society. These partnerships have contributed to Park’s strategic vision to increase its regional and state-wide brand awareness. Park's reputation is expanding immensely and well beyond Western New York thanks to its talented, award-winning students. Come join us on this exciting journey!THE CHALLENGEThe Park School does not have an adequate space on campus where the entirety of the students and faculty can gather for celebrations, theater, choral and band performances and visual arts exhibitions. The existing black box theater only seats 100, necessitating up to 6 performances of the school’s plays and musicals to accommodate audience demand leaving faculty and students exhausted. The Park visual arts department is widely acknowledged as first in class, yet Park artists have nowhere on campus to display their work. The school’s existing facilities are inadequate to professionally host Park’s arts-related regional and state-wide relationships. Park’s arts faculty has capacity to offer a summer theater camp which would net the school an annual 6-figure income stream but it lacks the facility to move ahead.THE SOLUTIONConstruction of a 19,000 square foot, 400-seat performing arts space located on campus that includes an art gallery; a media arts center; band, chorus and dramatic arts rooms. This space will be large enough to house whole school assemblies, visiting speakers, grandparent day performances, commencement, the spring art festival, the fall play and spring musical. THE CHALLENGEThe current size of the endowment, which is approximately $2,700,000, is not large enough to support and lock-in the operational gains of the last five years. The relative small size of the endowment cannot ensure stability and sustainability into the future for certain and uncertain times. THE SOLUTIONIncreasing Park's endowment to $10,000,000 would contribute approximately $500,000 annually to Park's operating budget and enable the school to continue to:1. Limit annual tuition increases to assist with affordability;2. Support an economically diverse student body;3. Contribute to increasing teacher salaries;4. Contribute to Park’s strategic plan to ensure institutional sustainability
