These projects brought an extraordinary amount of work, requiring many individuals to step outside their comfort zones and necessitating cross-functional support from other areas of the company.Together, the Sportech and Whisker projects involve nearly 40 new injection molds that Bemis must design, build, and have production-ready — all within a very tight timeline. To meet this challenge, the Contract Engineering group enlisted the support of Kelch, the Process Engineering group, and the Bemis Southeast Engineering team in Lenoir.Special thanks go to Rachel Kaschauer (Lenoir Tooling Engineer) and Nate Landaal (SF Process Engineer), who contributed signicantly to the Whisker tooling efforts. They supported mold specication and purchase orders, helping us overcome a major hurdle in getting molds underway as soon as data was released. As we approached the development phase of the Sportech project, we decided that, since the molds were built in Charlotte, North Carolina, it made sense to sample them in Lenoir — saving roughly 12 hours of transit time to our toolmaker. The support we received from the entire Southeast Group during the Sportech sampling of four molds was invaluable. The Lenoir Engineering team was instrumental in preparing for sampling. They completed a press upgrade in near-record time and readied both machines and facilities for the job. A development team from Sheboygan Falls traveled to Lenoir to run off the molds, and the customer was thrilled with the results. Our success wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment and teamwork from the Lenoir group. We’re truly becoming One Bemis Team — and that unity is lighting the path to a bright future. This isn’t the rst time we’ve leaned on Bemis Southeast. Over the past few years, Lenoir has built a strong, youthful engineering and support team. Key players like Rachel, Zach Japp (Process Engineer), Brandi Harris (Project Engineer), and Matt Rink (Program Development Manager) have elevated the group with impactful initiatives — one of which is the Plastics 101 course, now a standard part of Lenoir’s training program. The team even held strong for several months without a leader after Hector Murillo moved on to a new opportunity. Today, Tom Ventres has stepped in as Plant Manager and is continuing to drive the group’s development forward.— Warren Stokdyk & April Hammarlund● Bemis at ISH 2025 – Innovaon, Engagement, and a Strong Future● New Wholesale Product Site● United Way Transformave Philanthropy Award● Conservaon Eorts for Earth Day● Employee Appreciaon● Welcome, Summer Interns!● Sheboygan Falls Upcoming Events● BHC Naonal Sales Meeng● Universal Fit Seat Wins 2025 “Best of the Year” Award● Social Media Happenings● 2025 Annual BWA Picnic● 25-Year Club picnic● Anniversaries/Rerees
