EMPL OYE E P U B L I C A TIONJUNE2024ISSUE 260INSIDE“It was a splendid summ mning and it seemed as if nothing cld go wrg.” —John CheevCYBER SECURITYCyber security is in the news daily whether it has been related to ongoing issues with some of the local hospitals or known manufacturers that have had incidents that signicantly disrupt operations for an extended period.Over 90% of business compromises/cyber security incidents start with an attempt made directly to an employee at the company. The attempt can be via email (phishing), SMS text (smishing), social media, and/or even phone call (vishing). The goal is to gain some sort of information that can be used to obtain the next level of access such as a username/password or the ability to remote control your device and install a malicious program. Attempts are not just made in your communications at work, but also at a personal level to attempt to gain access to personal bank accounts, retirement accounts, etc. So, it is important to remain vigilant at work and home.Bemis relies on you as a vital layer in our overall Cybersecurity defense, so how do you keep Bemis safe? First, every correspondence and particularly email communication and texts must be looked at with extra vigilance regardless of source. Assume it could be malicious until proven otherwise. Links and attachments within messages should be under additional scrutiny. Any time accessing a link, attachment, or website is followed by a prompt for your company credentials take an extra moment to ensure you have veried the source. If a nancial transaction such as a request to change account details or make payments is requested, ensure to verify with direct communication to the customer and/or vendor. Always verify with your manager before changes are made.If the correspondence is suspicious, remember that even the contact information in an email signature could have been manipulated by the threat actor, so go through proven channels (phone call if needed) to ensure information is veried. Initiate the contact and do not rely on a phone call initiated to you from outside to be your proof. If someone contacts you, do not let urgency pressure you into a quick decision as that is a tactic used often. Examples include:1. You have missed a payment, and your account will be shut off.2. Your account is overdue and needs immediate payment.3. Someone with a high level of inuence (your boss, Jeff Lonigro, ● Sheboygan County Food Drive● Sustainability●BemisProducon&OperaonsAroundtheWorld● Bemis Proud●WelcomeSummerWorkers!● 25-Year Club Picnic●WomeninPlumbing,Heang,Cooling and Piping 2024●Anniversaries/Rerees

CYBER SECURITYConnuedSHEBOYGAN COUNTY FOOD DRIVEDid you know that on any given day, about 11,000 of our neighbors in Sheboygan County may be struggling with hunger?Ending hunger in our community requires a collaborative effort. We are excited to announce that Bemis Manufacturing Company and Local 800 are once again partnering with the Sheboygan County Food Bank for a food drive. The Sheboygan County Food Bank distributes food through its core programs and in partnership with food pantries and other organizations in Sheboygan County to make sure nutritious food reaches thousands of families, seniors, and children. All items go to the Sheboygan County Food Bank. The Food Bank distributes items to food pantries and other organizations in Sheboygan County that then put food into the hands of our neighbors who need it most.In 2023, Bemis employees donated 736 pounds of food and personal care items for the food bankThe Sheboygan County Bank provided 1,109,531 pounds of food in Sheboygan County in 2023. The donations helped 5,321 families a month. The Bemis Local 800 Food Drive will run Monday, June 3rd through Friday, June 28th.Donation boxes will be located by main entrance areas in all buildings. Every donation helps!!The most needed items are peanut butter, canned soup, canned chicken and tuna, canned fruit and personal care items. etc.) is requesting immediate action and needs you to provide x right away.4. Your time off request has been denied.Threat actors thrive on taking advantage of your trust or potential to disappoint someone of inuence. Step back in that situation, verify through known methods, and do not fall victim to the pressure. Leadership at Bemis understands the risk and will appreciate the vigilance vs. the alternative of creating a larger event for the company. What can you do to limit your overall exposure?1. First, always complete your Bemis cybersecurity training as it provides tips and current trends to help keep you informed.2. Limit what information you share publicly on social media or other channels. Articial Intelligence tools scrub social media sites such as LinkedIn to gain information for more targeted attempts that can be created using the company CFO, President, etc.3. Do not use your bemismfg.com email for personal use. Limit signing up for random drawings, do not provide your work email to sites that you would not do business with, avoid using work email on social media, ecommerce sites, etc.4. Ensure you use different credentials and strong/secure passwords for each website. Always enable MFA (multi-factor authentication). Never duplicate personal and work passwords. Do not reuse old passwords as they could have been part of a prior breach. If the website allows a username other than email address, change it to something unique to add another layer. What should I do if I receive an email or accidentally did something I think could have been risky?1. Never respond or correspond to the sender if you feel it had malicious intent.2. If you received an email, but did not click on any links, open attachments, or provide any information to the sender, then just click on the icon in Outlook to report the message for review by Bemis IT.3. If you did click on a link, open an attachment, and/or were prompted for credentials from a site you then felt could have been malicious, contact the IT Help Desk as soon as possible with as many details as possible.a. When in doubt, report it.b. If you have issues getting in contact with IT, reset your password as soon as possible, especially if you entered credentials.c. Watch out for random DUO/MFA prompts and do not click on them. Threat actors may attempt to spray MFA prompts to bait you into clicking if they have credentials.4. The best thing for Bemis is to be honest and timely in communicating the issue to IT if you made a mistake. The faster Bemis IT can start to look at the details, the quicker a potential issue can be contained.5. If you get reports that a customer, vendor, etc. of Bemis may have had a cyber incident, ensure you notify the Bemis IT Help Desk as soon as possible. The company appreciates the continued vigilance of employees to help ensure Bemis is kept as safe as possible from cyber incidents. Remember, YOU are a key layer in the cyber security defenses. — Chad Beisbier

SUSTAINABILITY“Sustainability: Maintain our nancial viability, support our communities, and protect our environment” is one of the Bemis Family Values. Some recent highlights of how Bemis lives this value are through Earth Day activities and a new-to-Bemis crop share program. In celebration of Earth Day (April 22nd), Bemis gave away tree seedlings to Sheboygan Falls employees and sent a group of volunteers to a local nature preserve. The trees were locally sourced Norway Spruces and were available to all ofce and manufacturing employees. Thank you to our yard crew for sourcing and organizing the trees! A group of employees from different functions and business units helped with invasive species management at Willow Creek Preserve in Sheboygan, a 143-acre property managed by Glacial Lakes Conservancy, a local not-for-prot land trust organization that owns several properties in Sheboygan County and neighboring counties and aims to support native plant and animal species and water and soil quality. Willow Creek Preserve includes part of Willow Creek, which is a tributary to the Sheboygan River Area of Concern. The property has beautiful walking trails that are open to the public. In an ongoing commitment to support the local community and environment while promoting employee health, a crop share program with pick-up locations on Bemis’s Sheboygan Falls campus is newly available to employees this year. Small and large crop shares are available for purchase through the Old Plank Farm, an organic farm in Plymouth, WI. The Old Plank Farm crew will deliver crop share boxes to Bemis’s campus every Wednesday from mid-June through mid-October. Two pick-up locations will be offered – the E1 conference room entrance and the employee entrance at Plant B. BEMIS PROUDThe Polygram asks, why are you proud to work at Bemis?I’m Proud of the Way We Treat Each OtherStressful situations can reveal a lot about a person, and I don’t think that there is a better recent example of widespread stress than the pandemic. The pandemic was an incredibly difcult and uncertain time, and it presented a lot of challenges that seemed insurmountable, but it revealed a lot about Bemis and our people. Time and time again, I saw people act with compassion and respect. I saw people checking in with each other and helping each other. People put aside differences and made sacrices for the greater good. I think the pandemic highlighted one of the benets of working at a family-owned company; much like a family, we share a sense of responsibility for each other. It is the bedrock of our culture. I’m Proud that We are a Manufacturer and I am Proud of the Products We MakeIn a heavily digitalized world, I think that people are rediscovering the importance of quality products that they can touch and feel. Not only do we make great products, but we make products that people use every single day; which means we have a unique opportunity to enhance our customers’ lives every day. And, whether its consumer goods, health care products, gas caps, or custom injection molding services, we deliver leading products in every one of our market segments. Not many companies can say that. I’m Proud of the Way We Treat our CustomersManufacturing the highest quality products is only part of the equation; it is equally important how we conduct business and how we treat our outside stakeholders. We have an amazing customer service team, who consistently ensures that each customer is treated fairly and has a positive experience with our products. They are the voice of the company, and the reason that many customers (including myself) would recommend Bemis products to their friends and family. Our reputation for world-class customer service sets us apart from the competition. — David Howell General CounselMatthias AdamavichDerek LeeMatt MauerKyle NeitzelNick PostemaKolby DaxTess RoenitzAndrew LoomisAnna LeeDesiree HartJosie RobinsonRowan LonigroClaire McCrawSam KelmAaron VueChristian FloresHayden LorPeyton SassMaggie KolsteKatherine BemisTaylor KaliesAya VangAntonio CisnerosDillan VueLucia VanEssAnya MentchAlaina RauwerdinkBenjamin NelsonLeo FinkZaven OuzounianJake HelmrickMaxwell HarlinRiley KestellAshley LeightonAustin SlimmerAlyssa KanethavongMalinda ShawMaggie KasbergerSierra GrimmBrecken CechAngel YaJasmine XiongLeeFong- Louis ThaoJaniessa GradyMadeline GonzalezAtticus SubatJoseph BemisTrinity SipiorskiIsabella MeerdinkJoseph SchreursBrady ColemanKenye BellPablo GonzalezWELCOME SUMMER WORKERS!

Samantha, a Regional Sales Manager at Bemis was nominated as one of the featured women.Samantha Janowski Regional Sales Manager, Bemis Mfg.Samantha leads and oversees the eastern region for Bemis. She works with new and existing customers and channel partners, including wholesalers, architects, engineers, contractors and end-users, to increase revenue potential and expand into new markets. Why did you enter the industry? During undergrad, I found a marketing internship for Haws Corp. At that time, I was clueless as to what an eyewash station was. To my surprise, I was brought in for multiple interviews and got the job. After 10 years with Haws, I decided it was time to learn more about the industry from a different lens and started working for Bemis Mfg. Selling eyewash stations and toilet seats was not exactly what my 5-year-old self dreamt of doing, but here I am 12 years later, not looking back. What are some of your career highlights? I am proud to have dedicated 10 years of my career to Haws Corp., where multiple individuals motivated and supported my professional growth. Moving across the country from Nevada to North Carolina to pursue my career advancement from marketing to sales was a big step, both personally and professionally. What are your experiences with women mentors or mentees? My mother and sister have been behind me at every stage of my life, teaching me invaluable lessons in patience and perseverance. I’ve been fortunate to have multiple women throughout my career support me, and I am beyond thankful for each of them. Informally, I aim to support women in the earlier stages of their marketing or sales careers. I try to provide guidance to help them work on personal improvement and think about the bigger picture. What is your advice for women entering this industry?Find your strengths, challenge yourself and put happiness rst in your job.How can the industry better recruit and retain women? The industry can increase general awareness of its advantages. The plumbing business can be challenging yet rewarding, especially for women in a male-controlled eld. What does it mean to receive this honor? Knowing my name crossed the mind of someone who thinks my efforts have made an impact is a fullling feeling, and I am grateful to have been nominated.
