ABOUT USThe Neenah Police Department is a proactive agency charged with theresponsibility of serving and protecting our citizens from criminalactivity. In addition to apprehending violators of the law, we seeourselves as community facilitators and problem solvers, as we workwith our citizens to prevent illegal and anti-social behavior.Typical activities involve: criminal investigation, answering complaintsand serving as advisors in a myriad of areas related to prevention.Members of our agency serve on community boards, youth councils,service clubs, Future Neenah business councils and more! Based on the 2024-2025 labor contract, the top patrol officer's base salary rate after seven years is $83,075 peryear. Starting salary begins at $60,347. Contract HighlightsArticle 4 - LongevityLongevity payments will be made for all officers within the Department in accordance with thefollowing schedule:5 years - $6.00 per month10 years - $12.00 per month15 years - $20.00 per month20 years - $25.00 per monthArticle 15 - ClothingNew officers will receive a complete set of uniform items (see attached list), at City expense.The City shall provide a new personal protective vest for the new officers and shall provide allcurrent officers with a replacement personal protective vests in accordance withmanufacturer guidelines.2022-2025 Officer ContractClick HERE to view the full 2022-2025 contract.

LATERAL HIRESCandidates with law enforcement experience coming into the department begin at anaccelerated rate based on prior years of service: referred to as a lateral hire. Swornofficers hired as a lateral hire will receive full credit for their full-time years of service andcorrections, probation or parole officers will receive half credit for their full-time years ofservice. SalaryBased on the 2024-2025 labor contract, starting salary for lateral hires is anywhere from$63,178 - $83,075, depending on years of experience. In addition to the salary rate, officersare compensated for longevity, overtime, call time and professional improvement.VacationA lateral hire officer with five years or more of experience will receive 144 hours of vacationupon hire. After five years of employment with the City of Neenah, the officer will receivethe total amount of vacation based on their total years of experience.
