While we have always been committed to helping people achieve their best health, a lot has changed since our humble beginnings as a tuberculosis sanitorium. Together with New Mexico, we have grown. Today, we are a nine-hospital healthcare system with a medical group of more than 1,200 employed clinicians and a health plan offering commercial, Medicare and Medicaid coverage.In the following pages, you’ll nd an at-a-glance look at the services we provide and highlights of our work to improve access and expand the healthcare workforce in New Mexico. CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY • In 2023, an 11-story patient tower opened at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque with 144 new rooms and capacity for 48 additional rooms, as well as expanded Emergency Department space and new amenities such as peaceful areas for respite.• We received a ve-year, $5 million grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to expand access and resources to New Mexicans who have or are at risk of developing diabetes. • We provided 107,902 pounds of healthy food to 523 patients and health plan members who screened positive for food insecurity through the Presbyterian Food Farmacy.• Our peer support program to help patients with substance use disorder was expanded to all Presbyterian facilities.• We opened Health Plan Place and the Medicare Advantage clinic to provide a one-stop shop for Presbyterian’s Medicare Advantage members. INCREASING ACCESSAccess to healthcare is a challenge across New Mexico due to a shortage of healthcare providers, especially in rural areas, combined with an aging population that is growing.Presbyterian is focused on improving access to care for the people we serve. Here’s how:Expanding our provider network. Presbyterian Health Plan has 29,000 providers in 125 specialties in our network, ensuring care for underserved areas across New Mexico. Our network includes: • All Presbyterian facilities• University of New Mexico Hospital and Medical Group• Lovelace Health System and Medical Group• All federally qualied health centers• Medicaid-enrolled school-based health centers rural health clinicsMore ways to access care. Since 2019, we have opened four PRESNow locations, providing around-the-clock access to Urgent Care and Emergency Care under one roof.Expanding telehealth options, such as virtual urgent care, adding specialties like gastroenterology and neurology, and a new primary care telehealth option.4PRESBYTERIAN HEALTH PLAN• Part of Presbyterian Healthcare Services, providing nearly 600,000 New Mexicans with health coverage.• Selected by the state of New Mexico since 1997 to be a Medicaid managed care organization and now serving more than 50 percent of all the state’s enrollees. Starting in 2024, PHP has had the sole contract to provide coverage to the children in state care.• One of the largest provider-owned health plans in the nation.• Staffed by a dedicated team of 2,100 people.

Here are a few of the ways we are strengthening our team and recruiting a workforce for the future.Presbyterian Nursing Career Pathways: This new program allows employees to launch their nursing careers while keeping their current Presbyterian positions. Employees can pursue Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing degrees. Presbyterian offers nancial assistance and scheduling exibility during the program. Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab (HALL): The HALL provides a safe, realistic experiential learning environment where participants receive hands-on simulation and training in an advanced technology setting. The HALL, which opened in fall 2024, features eight simulation settings, including inpatient rooms, outpatient exam rooms, emergency and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) bays and more. The goal is to advance clinical skills and retain our talented workforce.
