I’m a visual learner and the pictures help me understand the concept. I’m looking forward to exploring all the subspecialties in AP and diving deeper into the CP world to learn everything about Lab Management. As a compulsive watcher of Forensic Files, I’m looking forward to learning the Pathologist’s process in collecting evidence, contributing to solving a crime and providing justice to the patient. After COVID-19, I know there has been a huge demand and interest in Digital Pathology and Informatics, so that is something that I am also looking forward to experiencing in Pathology Residency.Name: Brandon Gremmer, M4Medical School: Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Fort Smith Arkansas, 2024Committed to Pathology: YesWhy Pathology: I committed to Pathology because I have a passion for the diagnostic aspect of medicine. The broad nature and daily randomness of what being a Pathologist entails is exciting. In Pathology, every day is different regardless of its specimen sign-out day, frozens, cytology, autopsies, etc. aligns with my personality. Most importantly, every Pathologist and Pathology resident I have rotated with have been the best experience since, not only do they love their job, but are wonderful teachers and team members. My enjoyment learning the Pathology craft and having passionate role models makes it certain that Pathology will be my lifelong career.Name: Nicole Berry, M4Medical School: California University of Science and Medicine, Colton, CA, 2024Committed to Pathology: YesWhy Pathology: In general, I just really enjoy working in a lab. I love pathology because you're looking for an answer, all why focusing more on the science of medicine. Pathology is also a very interesting intersection of art and medicine and very few other specialties are so visual. I enjoy the "constant learner" aspect of pathology and the immense collaboration and nerding out that pathologists get over cool cases.
