The Education Foundation of Eagle County exists because Colorado has a big problem adequately funding education. Our state has a long history of underfunding public schools, ranks toward the bottom in the nation in spending on education and pupil-teacher ratio, and ranks last in the nation in providing teachers a competitive wage. Wendy RimelPresident & Executive DirectorTessa KirchnerVice PresidentThe Education Foundation of Eagle County is dedicated to strengthening public education in Eagle County by leading teacher retention and support—keeping the best teachers in front of our kids. Through vital resources, ongoing professional development, and essential support for educators and school staff, we are committed to ensuring that teachers thrive—because when teachers succeed, students succeed.Project Funway is our biggest fundraising event of the year! It's also the best attended, highly publicized, and most creative fashion event in Vail, Colorado! Thank you for attending and supporting us in shaping a brighter future for our schools and children.E•ƒ(ec) is the #1 Teacher Retention Effort in Eagle CountyWhy support us?The ProblemScan the code to read our 2024 Annual Report.Part of the Solution: Education Foundation of Eagle County4Education Foundation of Eagle County

Creativity, wearability and the art of transformationProject Funway Judging Insights by Project Runway Winner Mondo GuerraProject Funway judging criteria emphasize the use of unconventional materials, which to me means unexpected materials are manipulated in a way that takes on a new form, creating a textile or a foundation that executes a fashion-forward concept. When I think of creativity, I consider wearability, silhouette, and the thought that went into the garment's design. To me, creativity boils down to problem-solving. How are unexpected materials transformed to look and feel like fabric? How does the garment move? I also consider the designer's personal connection to the piece.emcesIntroductionIntroductionAnnouncement fromAnnouncement fromCONGRESSMANJOE neguseEMCEECOLIN MEIRINGEMCEETRICIA SWENSENPADDLE RAISE EMCEECHRIS ROMER6Education Foundation of Eagle County

The less the material looks like its previous form, the better. The least fabric-like the materials, the better. Here’s a helpful guide to Project Funway’s judging criteria in order of importance. The more well-crafted the garment, the better. Unique crafting, attachment, and a garment that holds together throughout the show.Extra points for a garment, props, accessories, makeup and music that work well together, and a well-executed runway presentation with confidence and character.Creative use of unexpected materials.9PROJECT FUNWAY 2025
