For over 75 years Photonis has been the world leader in the design and manufacture of state-of-the-art image intensier tubes (I2) for defense, space and medical applications. Photonis has been on the forefront of image intensication technology from the advent of our Super Gen tube all the way to the introduction of the evolutionary 16mm 4G tubes in use today. 4G lmless Photonis Defense PD-PRO night vision systems set a new standard in system size by using a Photonis 4G 16mm image intensier tube within our PD-PRO-16B and PD-PRO-16M systems. Our PD-PRO-Q uses a lmless Hybrid-18mm which is slimmer than a standard 18mm image intensier tube, resulting in a smaller and lighter system, thus reducing swing weight and size. Heavy systems may be a primary factor in head, neck and shoulder strain. A 4G tube detects 30% more of the visible light spectrum (from below 400nm to above 1,000nm) than standard industry I2s, without the use of add-on, heavy, digital components. Our precision German optics use proprietary coatings specically formulated for Photonis I2s, which enhance the capabilities of our advanced 4G tube to maximize spectral response. The non-lmed 4G tube itself incorporates our patented nanostructure photocathode which delivers exceptional clarity, contrast and crispness of an image from edge-to-edge.
