The Life of Vincent van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was born on March 30th, 1853, in the Netherlands to Anna van Gogh and Theodorus van Gogh. Vincent was the eldest of 6 children and had a quiet childhood. During Vincent's life, he was struck by depression and was in this state for close to a year. His father had told him to try painting and eventually, he took his father's advice and became an artist. Vincent van Gogh specialized in painting and drawing. Vincent started off being inspired by nature and painting nature scenes but increasingly became inspired by Japanese prints and impressionist in France. Vincent van Gogh was most known for his use of the impasto technique, which is a technique where you imbrace the texture and brush strokes.

My Favorites

The famous Starry Night is one of my favorite art pieces. I admire his stroke style and movement in the painting Along the City under the Stars. My other favorite painting of his is the Cafe Terrance At Night, I love the city under the stars as well and I feel like you can imagine It being the city that is under the Starry night.
